We haven’t actually made the payment. From my understanding once you do make the payment it can take up to 24 hours to show up that you paid. But my problem is occurring before this step. for the Egypt consulate you have to use the online applicant system on ustraveldocs to create a profile and print out a paper with the $265 visa fee that my fiancé can then take to the bank and pay the fee. The online applicant system is asking me for an IV case ID number to get this but I’m not sure what that number is. I tried NVC case number, invoice ID, and DS-160 confirmation # (ended up being the same number as my application ID). None of these were recognized by the system. I only submitted the 160 yesterday would it take time between the submission and when I can sign up to make the payment? Sorry if my question is convoluted

Where is the application ID found. I am not familiar (I think) of what that number is.

The receipt you are referring to that you will take to the bank is referred to as the MRV receipt.

We have the same issue with Lebanon. I think we have to wait for it to be on "Ready" before we can pay.

That is another quirk in this process. Some embassies will keep the MRV system turned off till they give permission then once paid they turn on the scheduling portion. That's why I refer people to their P3 letter as I have been here a long time and have answered thousands of questions but I just can't keep track of who, what and where. So always refer to the P3 letter and those in the sub-forum for your country.

My sub-forum is lacking in members haha and our P3 letters says nothing in regards to this so we are kind of at a loss.

However.... I just logged in right now to try to get a screenshot to show you and it actually let me through. Perhaps they need to receive the digital file before you can proceed.

@Sohamahmoud91 The number they are asking for is the NVC number but you may have to wait until your case is in transit or they receive the digital file of your case. (Idk what stage you're on)

My sub forum is lacking too haha I just got my case number yesterday so I think if all goes well I should be on the 3/19 shipment. I submitted my DS-160 yesterday after getting my NVC case number. Currently my CEAC status shows “NO STATUS”. I just went back to the travedocs site and read it again very carefully and it says “please ensure you have been notified that your IV case number is ready for scheduling” so I guess we can’t pay the visa fee in advance for the Egyptian consulate at least only when it is in ready.

Awesome! So my assumption is if you log in around this time on 3/20, you should be able to pay.

I got to agree with this, and GB's prior advice to someone about CAREFULLY reading the P3 letters or instructions to determine what the officials are asking for.   That is not always easy for some people, particularly for those with ESL or who struggle with English.   In those cases, go slowly and re-read the stuff if you must.   We followed P3 instructions to the letter.  We both read them, and checked each other's work.  We have done this all along with every document and so far, no issues.   Then, post a question if there is something specific in your P3 letter or other instruction that you need clarification for instead of asking what the entire process is, without having checked your Embassy website.   The people who ask specific questions about instructions, seem to get far clearer responses.
