one thing to bear in mind about the Ryanair flight to "Paris" - Beavais is actually a tiny airport in the middle of the countryside over an hour by bus to Paris. There is a shuttle service that takes you to place de la concorde in the 8th arrondissement which is quite central. But you will then have to make your own way to your hotel. That will add additional time and about 15-20 euros on to your trip

If you fly Aer Lingus you will fly to CDG, which has far more options to getting into town, and is actually near Paris.

Oh yeah, I was going to say, Ryanair is awesome, but you really need to get to CDG if going to Paris. The shuttle thing must be new, but it also sounds like a PITA. I got charged for too much baggage on Ryanair and it wasn't as big a charge as on other airlines (although I don't remember what the charge was and it's probably irrelevant now as it was over a year ago). Your trip sounds awesome! I'm drooling! DROOLING.

I've been to France a few times, Paris a couple of times, I plan to rent a car there through the company local office. My major concern was the luggage.

Can't wait for 1 more year when my wife will be eligible to apply for US citizenship, I am facing a lot of headache having to get Visas for Ireland and Paris, Ireland takes 3-4 weeks, France you get it the same day. So for folks who plan to travel overseas and your spouse has a green card, MAKE SURE YOU PLAN WAYYYYYYYYY AHEAD.
