Just pay your ticket when you get it. Proceed with your naturalization application when you are eligible and don't beat yourself up with this red light ticket.

As long as you weren't in the red light district doing some red light district things.

As everyone said, it's no big deal as long as you pay the ticket.

The one thing that you must do however is keep the original citation (when it arrives in the mail) and the proof of payment.  My husband had a speeding ticket and he attached copies both to his N-400, brought originals to the interview (but didn't need to show) and it was no problem.

Red light tickets are not "criminally" enforced. They are a sham run by private companies and give a percentage of proceeds to the city and state. Even if unpaid, no warrants for arrest are issued, they are not criminal like regular speeding tickets, etc.

The ticket is issued to the owner of the car regardless of who's driving.

All that being said, you have nothing at all to worry about. Even if you are the owner of the car, the ticket will not go on your driving record or anywhere else other than the red light companies P&L.

1. If the light was yellow went you entered the intersection then in most jurisdictions that is not an infraction.

2. If the fine is under $500, it will 100 percent not impact naturalization.

3. If fine is $500 or over, it probably won’t impact naturalization.  Regardless invest in a traffic lawyer to get the fine reduced. In some states traffic school is your friend.    If the fine is under $500 it has no impact on naturalization, green card renewal, global entry, or nexus.

4. Invest in a traffic lawyer anyway. Depending on the jurisdiction, your auto and/or liability insurance is about to soar.

5. The assertion that red light camera tickets are not attached to the driver’s driving record is not true everywhere.
