Also going to Boracay the week before. I figured it was better to go before, cause if we get denied, I'm sure she won't want to go.

That place is back in full swing again .. with less of a sewer smell

I'm too am on 3. First one married 15 years, 2nd did not work out so I sent a letter to cancel it (2016), Now this one with 32 years difference. All in the Philippines.

Similar.   First one (2004) withdrew before approval,  second (2006) resulted in a 10 yr marriage and one child,  third (2018)

:( that is the reason I am going with her. To keep her organized and calm. I think this is going to help a lot of people with large age differences. It is not a question that I thought may come up, but we will do our best to prepare. God Bless.

I will be with my fiancé as well for the interview.  I asked my fiancé that question last night and she didn't know how to answer it but she understood when I broke it down.  I said "baby, we both love to sit at home and watch scary movies, we love beaches, we love Korean food, we love to travel, etc" and she said "oh yeah", lol.  Also the issue may be not knowing how to interpret the question and properly answer.  English is their "SECOND" language

Yes, this is true. Then there is the whole deference to authority thing. They have a difficult time speaking up to a person they feel is in a position of authority.

Age difference:   23 years...54 and 31....

Age difference .  She didn't understand one question.   "What do we have in common?"

They hammered the question about what is common between us.  I think the real issue was she was so nervous she froze.  The consular ask if she understood the questions or would she like an interpreter,  which she declined.   May have been a mistake not to have one.

Ouch! And I mean that sincerely.

I think that question may have made her think about it deeper than usual and inadvertently took her out of "interview mode".

Sorry to hear about the refusal. Assure her that you two can overcome this.

I'm sorry to hear this. I have high hopes that both of you will ace this interview.

I was there earlier and the place was a little packed. I might have even seen your fiancee but wouldn't know for sure.

Sending positive vibes on your way!

I think once the Filipina is out of her 20s age gap becomes less of an issue.

With that said,  I know a couple where she was just turning 20 and he was 53 .. they had no issues.  Been married 12 years now.
