Sworn Affidavit

Dear visajourney pals,

 

As we gather bona Fide evidence for our spousal Visa , we need some sworn affidavits to testify our true relationship.Where do we sign such sworn affidavits in Greece? In a public notary,a lawyer or in KEP ( state office ) ?

Is your proof not good enough?  The affidavit is not considered a good primary proof of bona fide relationship.  It isn't easy to co-mingle accounts but I was able to add my wife to my health insurance at work and as the beneficiary of my life insurance.

Sworn affidavits are not really good evidence. What is your other evidence that you will submit?

affidavits are good and better if u get them notarized but there are other ways but adding ur spouse to important docs to show co-mingling are the best

Affidavits are better than nothing, but very, very weak overall. Literally no rational person would submit a negative affidavit.

Notarization verifies that the person who signed them is who they say they are. It does nothing for the content of the letter.

The notary only verifies the signature, not the statement.  That is why they are not great evidence.

Affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file; your focus should be on submitting evidence (it's evidence you're submitting, not proof) of time spent together in-person.  This type of evidence is and always will be your strongest evidence.  Should you choose to submit the affidavits anyway, there is no requirement to have them notarized; as others have mentioned, all notarization is that the person who signed the document was in fact that person; it does nothing to support the statements actually made.
