The one that is closed tightly is the one you have to take with you to the embassy interview (btw when is it?) and then the vaccination record is for you to have a proof and the RayosX you don't have to bring it to the interview but you do have to have it with you when you entry the US (have it in your backpack or carry-on, not checked luggage)

Tell me if I explained myself.

Yes I understand now, the one that closed tightly I have to take it to the embassy interview n the other one for when i entry to the US got it, you already gone to the interview?

Yes, I got an e-mail yesterday saying that it had been shipped (even though until Monday when I called they still "hadn't received my case").

Congratulations!! That's awesome.

Whenever you go online to schedule your interview, can you report back and let us know which dates are available at that time? It seems like when people on this thread have looked at available interview dates, they're typically about a month later than whenever the person is doing the booking. (Not always, of course! Sometimes there are no dates posted, and sometimes there are cancellations, etc.) Anyway, I'm curious what you will find. Maybe the embassy always adds interview slots one month in advance, hmmm...

Thank you!  I sure will!  I will keep you all posted.  In our case, however, we are looking to schedule it about a month or so out because of me wanting to be there, so we are likely to choose a date in June anyways.  But, for the sake of research, I will take a look at the availability in May. :)

Oh, one thing I can report back on: last night my fiance used WhatsApp to contact Dra. Grillo. He was able to get an appointment with her for May 14th, no problem. And he definitely explained to her that our case wasn't at the embassy yet, but that it would be there soon after the appointment. This wasn't a problem for Dra Grillo, apparently. She said that he will just need to have his NVC case number and his vaccination records (and the money for the tests, etc).

Very helpful! Thanks. So maybe sometimes it's more than a month in between when you're looking and when the first available date is. Wow. Good to know.

Thanks!  Yes, I've heard she does that.  I think the reason why they suggest you to wait is so that the medical does not expire beforehand if there are issues with the case arriving, etc. :)

Yes, we also got his divorce decree apostilled and translated for the I-129F and to present for marriage in NYC. Was wondering if we also need his Acta apostilled for use abroad (particularly for AOS) as it's a civil document from a foreign country.

The one he has is the original from his birth year, laminated, with all the stamps and signatures. Do we need to get an updated copy?

I´m got my Acta de Nacimiento all stamped too, not sure if it is truly needed but it feels more "solid" for me (can´t make it more legal than that 😊)

Yes, that's correct. In our case, I'm not too worried about the medical expiring. We're going to be able to move quickly with all the other parts of the process. But someone who is more risk-averse (or who just wants more time to wrap up their lives in Argentina before coming to the US), it makes sense to not do the medical appointment too early.

That’s exactly why it is recommended to wait. The same with DS160. But if you plan to leave as soon as you have the visa this is not an issue

Perfect!

I had the interview on Thursday 25th. Got approved. My passport and packet arrived yesterday through DHL (it took 4 bussiness days to get everything back). I’ll go to pick everything tomorrow since today is a holiday.

Yep, that's pretty much our plan. My fiance has already sold most of his stuff and stopped working. (He's a sound technician, and winter is low season for events, so he's not really missing out on work opportunities right now anyway.) And I have tons of frequent flier miles, so I will be able to get him a ticket to the US literally as soon as he receives his visa back from the embassy.

If anyone is reading this post in the future, please do be aware that my case isn't necessarily typical!!

Hey everyone. I talked with my lawyer friend about the apostilled and this is what he said.

IMPORTANT FOR FILLING AOS

Every document has to be apostilled and translated.

I’ll call tomorrow to the Colegio de Escribanos here in Córdoba to ask cost, how long it takes to do it, documents needed, etc

The translation has to be done by a Traductor Público and then has to be certificate by the Colegio de Traductores.

For the ones that did it with the Divorce degree, the way to do it is the same so if you can share how do it bellow it will be great for the ones who read it in the future.

Special thanks to @Andrea + Gaston to bring it up! We all owe you one. It was going to be such a pain to do this being in the US. Now I have something while I wait to leave.
