Don't know when I'll be leaving yet, tomorrow will do a facetime with my fiance and start arranging all that.

We'll be in Queens for a while until we move to a dept for our own, but don't know where. 😊

We' ll be close enough to meet in person hahaha! So cool!

@Lucre We decided the k1 over Cr1 because even though with Cr1 you get the 10 year greencard and you don't need to do extra paperwork you have to have this things in mind about CR1, that made us in our case choose the k1, try to choose the one suits your relationship best:

A) CR1 visa proof of relationship asks for rent receipts, banck accounts together, pictures and proof of living together, services under each other names, you have to proof you have a real, bonafide marriage. Unfortunately even though we lived together we didn't have this proofs, but we could easily proof what the K1 asks: "to have meet in person ones face to face", and we have 8 years of proof.

B) To apply for CR1 you have to marry at the beneficiary's country and wait to have 2 years of marriage together in orther to apply for the visa (plus the marriage proof, pictures of wedding and the paperwork in point A). So this means you have to add 2 years to the complete CR1 time processing, and we didn't want to wait 3 years to be together, I got my approval yesterday and the whole process since sending the packet took 10 months.

C) Affidavits of support: The CR1 has a more detailed and extended affidavit of support than what k1 visa is required in orther to get into the US. The K1 requires the same affidavit than CR1 for the Adjustment of Status, because you are starting a new process the green card journey. But you are already with your loved one.

D) Interviews: CR1 interviews are very long, because they have no other chance to catch you if you are a fraud couple. So, the interview at the consulate takes 20/40 minutes depending on the case, consul, remember you need to proove a marriage, not a meeting in person and intent to marry with the american. K1 visa has a shorter interview, 10 to 15 minutes, you have lot less to proove and they are letting you enter the us for 90 days with intent to migrate, so means they still have more oportunities to catch you if you are lying.

This where the very imporrant reasons that made us choose the k1 even you have to do more paperwork. Hope this helps!

Congrats to all!  So cool that you will be leaving so near, what are the odds!  Anyways, on average, do you know how long it takes for the NVC to get the information from USCIS for Argentina?  Also, the average it took for you guys from the NVC to the embassy?

Thanks!

For me from NOA2 to NVC case number was 16 days (NOA2 February 12th NVC number February 28th)

From having the NVC case number to 'in transit' to the embassy was 4 days (NVC case number February 28th 'in transit' March 5th)

From 'in transit to 'ready' in the embassy 3 days (it left NVC on a tuesday, it was ready on the CEAC website on thursday, and the embassy emailed me packet 3 on a friday)

In my case from USCIS to NVC took 3 weeks NOA2 December 4, NVC case # January 8. That day was already in transit and next day was at the embassy. Since NOA2 everything was very fast. 😊

Can't believe it! Hahaha! We are not in NY yet and we already have an Argento team to hang out, it's lovely what visajourney does for us really. Hahaha! 😊

Tomorrow I'll pick my passport and paper packet with my medical exams at the CEAC facility, my fiance wanted to buy the ticket today, but better check if the visa has no errors, and the medical envelope has no scratches on it.

I think I'll be traveling on April 21, 22 so nice to skeep Buenos Aires winter! Wohooo! Can't wait to experience snow in winter and a snowy christmas! I'll feel like in the movie Home Alone 😂

Please post your interview experiences, I updated my timeline today, and added my whole interview experience for the newies here so you can have an idea how was it. 😉

I remember I got into the embassy webpage to find how to check the status. If Im not mistaken is the same webpage where you check your visa process after the interview. Try here with your NVC Case #

Yeey! You're really close, things will move really fast from now on. Check every day because my case was only 1 day in transit. Check the date on your NOA2, there you have the expiration date. Try to schedule the interview before that, because you need that paper valid at that point. If you don't make it, don't worry tou will need to contact the US Embassy in Argentina, explain your NOA2 will expire before the interview and they will give you an extention of that document. But, as far as I know, it lasts 3 months since the day it was sent (that date is the one printed on the noa2 letter, not the day ir was delivered to your fiance) 😏
