Hi everyone! Already back home, called my fiance to give him the news first, and wanted to have my time to give you proper feedback.

My interview appointment was 10am. I arrived 1 hour erlier because I live 2hs away, good thing is there's a caffe Havanna nearby where I waitted.

At 9:45 I arrived at the door, asked a woman where I had to announce myself for k1 visa interview. She directed me to a screen. Another woman behind the window gave me a green folder where you need to place the documents they ask for (the folder has a list on the front explaining what documents and in which order you need to present) also told me to do step 4 and 5 after security check, whithout doing the line, just announce myself.

Before getting into the embassy, a guard asked me if I had any of the prohibited objects: you can't enter food, phones, headphones smartwatches, no technology at all, makep up, creams, medications, sharp objects like nail cutters) said no and let me in.

Once inside passed the security check, did no problem (suggestion for girls: use no bra or any sport top like I did, so the "detector de metales" don't activate with the metal "aro" some bras have inside. I've seen this issue today, and also a guy was delayed because he had headphones and a pen. Just go with the papers.

After that, I had my biometrics done, the girl was very nice to me, she asked me with a smile If I was ready to marry, and I smiled back while saying yes, then I got into a different building, announced myself and let me in. There was a big line of people waitting for the tourist visa interview, all the immigrant visa applicants were waitting on the left hand side of the building. I sat with 2 more couples.

They called me and asked for the green folder with the documents required and also returned me all the I129F and packet 3 proof. The consul mentioned it was not the actual interview, they were going to review the papers first. I got worried when the consul asked me for the "Acta de nacimiento", I only had my birth certificate. She said it's ussless the birth certificate for the American law, the Acta is the only thing that works for them, she said the consul was going to explain at the interview what I needed to do to get my acta de nacimiento.

After that It was 10:30, I waited an hour and the consul called me for the interview at 11:30. He was nice, serious and professional. He made me swear all documents and statements I presented and was going to say were true, after that his questions were:

How we met?

How old are you?

How old is your fiance?

Have you ever travelled to the States?

Is your fiance a permanent residence?  sayed no; He was born in the states, so asked me for my fiance's original birth certificate, and if I didn't have it the copy. I showed him the original birth certificate, and that was the only document he asked for, he really examinate it.

In the emd, he explained all the paperwork and interview was fine, but could not approve my visa until I send them my "acta the nacimiento", and try to do it ASAP.

Finally asked me if I was going to travel overseas to give me my passport back, said no, so they kept it.

I am half happy, half worried and a little angry with myself because I have an "acta de nacimiento" legalized in 2016, I left at home, I should' ve brought it 😫😣. Tomorrow I will send the document personally and after they review it, they will tell us if we are approved or not.

Do you guys know if the "acta de nacimiento" has an expiration date? If I send the one I have from 2016 will work?

Sorry for this long post, but wanted to be very detailed, hope this helps you guys.

Good luck to every one! Will keep you updated on this and see you in this group for the Adjustment of Status!! 😊

Congrats that the interview itself went well!. This deal with the birth certificate they require has always bugged me and I've asked my fiancée a million times if she has the correct one and everytime I do she gets mad because she knows she has the correct one. It should be the one that Registro Civil gives you and it's signed I believe. Don't blame it on yourself, but blame it on the intense and long process they make us go through to just be able to bring our loved ones to the U.S. With all we have to have in mind with documentation to present is hard to get everything right at once. So once you send this over you should be good to go :D.

If you don't mind me asking did they give you any hard time with the i134 with the proof htat needs to be presented? Were they only interested in the IRS Transcripts by any chance?

Let us know when you get a response from them after you've sent the acta!

Regarding the affidavits, the woman who asked for the green folder didn't want to take the original affidavits (even though the green folder list of papers tells you to add that).

At the interview I was expecting questions about my co-sponsor, but he did not ask any of that. I sent a very heavy thick case with a lot of paperwork, plus I first met my fiance in 2011 and we've been together as frinds and then as a couple always together, maybe that helped I don't know, I got the feeling in my case it was a formality the interview.

We've been 5 couples, 3k1 2CR-1. 1couple of 5 was approved and if everything goes right me as well, so 2 of 5.

I also practice questions from other Argentinian experiences in Visajourney, search the US embassy in Argentina and thr choose the option where says the embassy rating and opinions, and you will find a lot of updated experiences. I didn't add mine until I get a response from the Embassy.

Lets keep the faith ❤

Yes the 2 CR1 and a k1. Unfortunately I don't know why. Wjen I arrived a guy just got out from the interview smiling, told to his american fiance all good. Then a woman alone with 3 small kids, when she got out was very serious, like disapointed, seemed rejected, maybe got same answer as me.

Another couple but, both got into the interview, they've been 30 minutes, really wired, because the american fiance is.not suposed to be at the interview. They left sad and serious, then me and left smiling but worried inside hahaha.

The docs on the green folder where, acta de nacimiento, police clearance, affidavits, passport, passport pictures, CEAC instructions (you are able.to print this as soon as you schedule the interview), dhl confirmation, visa payment receipt, divorse originals if apply. More or less, Im  missing one or 2 things, but are papers you will have for sure, don't worry.

Thank you for the information!

When you say Affidavit is Form I-134?

I can imagine being rejected. I'm conffident thinking that if you come this far already everyhthing will be fine.

ohhhh okay the full Evidence of support. My fiance sent me 500 pages of that. I guess I'll have to make copies of everything in order to have original for the interview and send copies on packet 3.

I should be sending packet 3 next week. I have an appointment for the RNR here in Córdoba next Wenesday, so after that I'll be done

I also were able to schedule medical exam the same week I'll be in Buenos Aires for the interview.

Medical April 23rd

Interview April 25th

I'm writing this specially for those that live in another province. In the packet 3 it says I should send a photo of the closed envelope, but I'm sending a note instead that says i'll be having the medical exam on the 23rd because I'm from Córdoba

@andreaam great! I can't explain how good it feels to finish all the paper work and send it 😌

Yes send copies of the affidavit, and have originals at the interview. Also if you didn't add much pictures or.proof on packet3 you can take more to the interview and add it on the green folder (thats one of the things I forgot to mentioned before) I sent more or less 25 pictures and other proof in packet3 so even the consul asked me if I wanted to add more proof I said no, and was fine. So about on going communication proof and pictures to bring with you at the interview, just only if you feel you are not sending enough on packet 3

So I've made our wedding reservation and I have documents that I've signed already. I was wondering if that would be ok to send as proof of relationship? Could they find it weird that we have booked something for our wedding already? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

From information I've been reading here and in other forums, I think that will work for the interview in case they ask her for wedding plans.

If you submit it in Packet 3 I don't think it will be a problem anyway.

I think @Fernanda R Sanz sent on Packet 3 a proof of the wedding rings purchase

Thank you all for your input. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of posts about Argentina. Do any of you know whether the interview can be conducted in Spanish. And, if it can, would this affect the chances of getting approved?

Also, would the beneficiary’s unemployment status due to waiting on the visa (we decided for him to stop the job search due to our plans) be an issue for approval?

Thanks @andreaam for tagging me. @Javier Mera they only suggest not investing money on the wedding until you get a notification of approval, because you may loose money. In our case we added as Andreaam said the wedding rings purchase, I bought a dress not expensive and added pictures, Im a graphic designer so I design the wedding invitations and through email with my fiance we started talking what to wear, trying to arrange our parents flights to the wedding, looking for airb&b for accomodation, etc. I print that out.

Also if you talked about the wedding in your on going communications, add that too. It helps erasing any incosistency on your case if all the proof are connected. Not a must, but worked for me. Add the reservation, in you have a receipt too. I created a tab called wedding plans. My paket3 was devided in beneficiary docs, petitioner docs, evidence of financial income and resourses (sponsor and co-sponsor affidavits), proof of relationship (here added the pictures and proof of meeting in person, social media interactions), on going communucation tab, presents to one another (if you have sent presents and letters through currier), and wedding plans. I add this just to help you organize all the paperwork, I had in mind a person was going to review all the case and tried to make it easy for the consul.

Where is your fiance from? Im curious, hope you don't feel Im asking something too personal.

Your are all doing good! Keep it up your are really close 😊
