Your brother can file the i-130 for your father once becoming a USC, yes.

Take about a year or so.

My brother has told me that he can gain/apply for citizenship in May 2021. Assuming he gets that, my dad will likely be interested in moving the US. As I understand it, my brother will be able to apply for a green card for my dad?

Apply & gain isn't the same. If he applies in May 2021, then he'll get it probably sometime in 2022. Then if he applies for your dad, it'll take another 12-14 months. After that 5 years before your father can naturalize himself and file for you. 7-8 years wait after that before your priority date becomes current (as long as you remain unmarried).

So it takes roughly the same time for you if your brother applies for you or for your father who in turn applies for you once he naturalizes. Difference is, if your brother applies for you, you can be married.

My brother has a green card which he intends for turn into citizenship in approximately two years time.

When I have disclosed this information previously, I have been told to ask again  in two years time hence the hypothetical scenarios.

Worded my question like this previously and got told to come back when my brother was a citizen...

Well, yes, because LPRs cannot sponsor siblings----makes sense they would tell you he has to be a citizen.

And by the way, you only have 2 threads since joining VJ.  This one, and the previous one linked on page 2 or so.

Remember past threads can be read in their entirety.

Neither one of them has any one in either thread telling you to "come back to VJ when he's a citizen" or "ask again in two years time", or anything like that, that I saw?----I think you misunderstood the whole "citizen" part people mentioned in your first thread?

Right.  Ok.

Uh, you haven't noticed how many people have dropped out of this thread thus far?

So now you've lost another person who was honestly trying to help you out with whatever immigration situation you are in.

And thread will probably be locked soon just for going around in circles and wasting time.

Best of luck with whatever is in your hypothetical future.

My point being that anything posted on these forums is generally believed to be true. I appreciate those people who forgave my ignorance and wording of my questions and provided actual helpful insights and potential solutions.

Yep and I've already said thank you to that effect numerous times.

I am grateful to everyone who has viewed this post. I got the answer I wanted and acknowledge that for this audience I should have gone about it in a different manner.

Father can start F2B process upon US POE with the IR-5 visa.

See above; father does not need to naturalize. The process @Boiler outlined is faster than F4:

Brother becomes USC, a few years?

Sponsors father, another year, assuming he wants to come

Father sponsors unmarried son -7 years?

Assuming adult children can still be sponsored.
