Our interview was Jan 18th which is the date of the 221g. We submitted our documents on 25th of Jan and were approved 29th. The sad part is India has been having massive glitches! We got the email on 29th stating our passport was ready for pick up but we never left them our passport. We got this email again on Feb 2nd. Both times we called and they would say it's glitch. We finally emailed them Feb 14 and they replied Feb 15 that a packet was there for us since the 2nd!!!! We got the letter asking for our passport. We submitted it on 15th of Feb and had visa in hand Feb 26th.

Very fast!

Generally all Administrative processings are done in 60 days but it can take less or more time also.

Yes they have to take a different route. Better safe than sorry!

@kvalam, we got a 221g & they r asking for relationship proofs. But I had already frontloaded my application & submitted every proof then. Should I just resubmit it again as there’s nothing much new except for phone / chat .. or they only need the new evidences ?

That's what we did since they didn't have the proof we took to the interview on hand, we just printed more chats and call logs and turned them in with what we took to the interview. That passed.

@kvalam, Thankyou. I thought front loading application helps. But lost faith in that too as co was already determined to hand us 221g. Everything they hve asked in 221g except wedding plans were already submitted. It’s so frustrating

What we submitted for "wedding plans" was 3 quotes from photographers. We never sent anything that showed paid for. On a piece of paper we wrote names and phone numbers of people we might invite to our wedding.

@kvalam, should we just put all the papers together in an envelope just like we send the I 129 application & drop it ?

Congratulations to those who have overcame the AP/ 221G process! For those who have received their visa -- welcome to a new and exciting chapter in your life. I wish you the best and utmost success in the US, with your better half by your side. :)

It seems almost every single case, from Mumbai, is going through extended AP.  That is my current dilemma, but with CR-1 visa. :(

Not every single case gets 221g!! Only Member here gets 221g. We were approved but we got 221g cuz of missing document. If you see very small number of people here on visa journey from big country like India.

So if someone is approved straight why would they be here on visa journey 😆

but 221g doesn’t mean it’s denied it’s just more time. You will be fine just don’t spend too much time on visa journey or check your status 50 times a day because  that can drain lots of positive energy out of you!!
