Wait a bit till you have confirmation that indeed the K1 has been denied. Then you can begin. Before you think about whats next you better get married. Can't file till you are married.

Slow down you just got the news today. Lets do this slowly and in the correct way. Oy Vey.

@Greenbaum, thanks for the info as my fiancé is yet to come. If the officer doesn’t hand the form at the POE should he ask him for that ?

I didn't get mine at POE but was able to email the hospital and quickly get a copy.

Don't fret the small details, it;s finally time to enjoy the fact that you and your fiancé can finally be together :) It's a wonderful feeling!

Hi

My Fiancee had interview last week. She was given 221G. No other documents asked and case status is now 'Administrative Processing'

How long does it take to clear AP. What should next step we should take

Please advise

Thanks

I had my interview on 16th may 2019 at the Mumbai consulate. The visa officer said it was approved at the interview. When I went to pick up my passport, 221g letter was given with no visa. The ceac status shows that case was created on 16th may & case updated on 16th may. It shows non-immigrant AP. They asked for my CV, publications details, work history, transcript, questionnaire. We had to cancel our ticket, etc. This is a horrible phase. Trusting Jesus. Please help. What do you think?

A visa is never approved until the embassy has ISSUED a visa and it is jn your hands. Every embassy in their instructions will tell this. Here is an example.

Please be advised that no advance assurance can be given as to when or whether a visa will be issued. You should NOT give up your job, dispose of your property, or make any final travel arrangements until you receive your passport with the visa.

You must comply with your 221(g) and once submitted you'll need to wait. For how long you ask. No one knows with any certainty when your visa will be issued.  We have seen 1 to 2 weeks, 1, 2, or 3 or more months.  India is not a fast moving embassy for this new status you find yourself.

I've been waiting for 30 days now. Even if it shows non-immigrant AP. It doesn't mean anything?

30 days doesn't alarm me for India. It means they are adjudicating your case. Nothing more. There is nothing you can do.  Calling isn't going to help nor emailing.  Sit tight and check into ceac for current status.

Hi guys!

i was issued 221g on March 20 during my interview for CR1(Spouse of US citizen).

i submitted all the documents they asked for on March 26. Next day the status changed to case under AP. Ever since no updates and also the date of the status is not changing. It still says case under administrative processing date March 27.

can anyone suggest what’s happening here? I’m afraid that they just put my case on the side and not touching it at all.

I called VFS India they said it’s under administrative processing. I also emailed Mumbai consulate yet no response. The auto generated msg said I will hear back in 1-2 business days.

Thanks in advance.

@NMP, have you tried contacting your congressman or senator. Could help to speed up a bit even if not there’s nothing harm in trying.

I did contact Senator. When I contacted the senator I specified that my interview was in Mumbai with my case number that starts with BMB

The senator office mailed me a letter saying they will contact New Delhi consulate on my behalf. I don’t know where “New Delhi” came from. Although it’s Mumbai.

I called them and left a message but haven’t heard back from senator yet.

I received letter from senator on June 12

Your case is under normal processing. No one can say with any certainty when it will be released. Mumbai embassy AP conditions can be 1, 2, 3 weeks or more as well as 1, 2, 3 or more months. A follow up letter or email to your representative may be warranted in your case.  The more details the better and a positive letter could very well garner a positive response.
