Nothing that a congressman, lawyer, you or your mother can do to move your case. Calling will accomplish nothing but you can do what you wish.

@Greenbaum🤔🤔🤔... I think I would leave my poor mom out of all this trouble & let her enjoy her old age

On that note, do you have a suggestion about a realistic time to reach out to a congressman or senator? I'm slowly but surely approaching the "60 Days" date.

There's no harm in doing so in hoping that they "nudge" it along once it is outside "normal" processing timelines (i.e. 60 days). As others noted though, realistically I wouldn't expect anything to come from it other than the case is being processed and they will let you know when there is an update. Getting anything useful from a consulate during AP is like talking to a wall, unfortunately.

Very disheartening--I cannot think of any logical explanation as to why they are holding on to our passports.

HI, can you please post a review of your interview, and what additional documents they asked you for? I am trying to prepare for my own interview. Thank you very much!

@AAAA27, did ur fiancé contact congressman?

He did and we are seeing some movement. I have seen a general theme here on VJ of people discouraging folks to try different "ways" to try to speed up process and I disagree with that. Will it help? That I don't know but it won't harm you.

Remember that you are most invested in your case so I would do anything to help it along especially since you are so close to the finish line and have done everything by the book.
