@Tara & Rohit @ujones another great day of no updates! I have exhausted all shows on Netflix and Prime in this time period! Good luck to all of us for tomorrow :)

You might try both options below.

First try submitting an inquiry using this link from the Ombudsman; submit your request online.  If you have already submitted online but did not receive a confirmation email with your case number, the submission did not go through.  Please try again.

If you have not submitted Form DHS-7001, Case Assistance Form, online or made other arrangements with our office to file on paper, we will not respond to any emails.

The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Washington, DC 20528-0180
Email: cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov
Web: www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

If you receive a response and it contains anyone of these sentences this will be the meaning of that phrase.

If the CSC response is due to a congressional case worker inquiry, the service center will say "security checks"

If the CSC response is from a regular service inquiry from their website, the service center will say "adjudication"

@Greenbaum Thank you so much. I believe this inquiry is only when the case is with the USCIS and not with the local embassy?? I say that because I am looking at the online form and it asks to pick what kind of visa petition I am inquiring about and no other options.

Thoughts?  I have asked my fiancé to reach out to the local congress member- I know it's not 60 days yet but no harm I guess!

@AAAA27, there’s nothing wrong in contacting them even if u haven’t reached ur deadline but from what I understood you would only get a standard response as usual to wait 60 days. Bcoz of that I hve decided to wait till the exact 60 day mark is over to contact them.

The way I read/interpret it is that the 60 day "rule" makes sense when they reviewing the documents we sent. I imagine, the reason they have asked for the passport is the they are done reviewing and have made a decision to issue the visa(why else would they return documents and ask for the passport?

All I am trying to say it that an inquiry may be the nudge that is needed IMHO.

On that note, do you have a suggestion about a realistic time to reach out to a congressman or senator? I'm slowly but surely approaching the "60 Days" date.

Nothing that a congressman, lawyer, you or your mother can do to move your case. Calling will accomplish nothing but you can do what you wish.
