Reached US via Abu Dhabi - Etihad airways, immigration done at Abu Dhabi. Only piece of advice if you are traveling to some other part in US after landing and you booked your flight in a single ticket and too with American Airlines , they shift your baggage and you LL get your baggage at your destination. Which has actually misquoted to us at Delhi Airport by Etihad airways staff and many of us waited one hour there for baggage claim, just to know our baggage has already been shipped to American Airlines flight.

Normally baggage is retrieve by you once you clear immigration and then you take the baggage to customs as customs may want to inspect your bags. This is only at POE.  

 

But for a country you pass US immigration (referred to as a US Pre-clearance Checkpoint) prior to boarding, then your baggage is transported from your landing airline to your next flight if you have a ticket with multiple stops in the US. There are few airports that have US Immigration in country that you pass so this is not for ALL airports. I know of one other and that is Dublin Ireland but there are others.

My fiancé tried to drop off our evidence today and someone told him at the office that “he didn’t have enough” and he didn’t have things like receipts for rings and boarding passes. Both of which we don’t have... but literally gave everything else listed. Now they’re telling us we need to create a list of reasons why we don’t have these things. Has anyone heard of this before? My heart is breaking

Ya when I went to drop off I don't have financial evidence to transfer to each other but they gave us latter to write us the reason why so we did

My status was showing AP till I dropped the documents. Now it says ready for interview. Why is it so ?

I was asked only one  documents regarding relationship.was asked only who supports you financially now after marriage..I told my husband . And he said do have proof ..I handed out our western union transfer for one year along with my passbook..ne never opened the passbook ... Though.... I even collected ring receipt later for interview as I had missed placed it from the jewellery shops as it's with them as soft copy ...u can try getting it ...no matter u got it in India or us..say the estimate date and they will find it for you...
