Hi! I am adjusting status from a K1 visa. I received our biometrics appointment letter today. It says our appointment is in Rhode Island. We are living in Boston. I know that people have taken their appointment letter and gone to their field office sooner to get biometrics done another time. Can I also do that at a different field office? I know that there is a field office right here in Boston.

Biometrics can be taken at any ASC. USCIS gives you an appointment at the closest one to the address listed on your application for your convenience is all.

You can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/office-locator/#/asc and enter your zip code to see the closest ASC. I don't think all field offices can take biometrics (though some can), so it may or may not be possible at the Boston field office. Perhaps there is an ASC closer to you. If so, just head over and see if they will see you without an appointment. Even if not, they may be able to tell you when would be a good time/day to come back and have them taken then.
