Got my interview notice today. My husband (the petitioner) is currently unemployed (collecting insurance), I'm working part-time since November, after six months unemployed. When we applied, we didn't have a sponsor as my husband's income was enough for both of us. Question is: should we get a sponsor and take an Affidavit Of Support (form I-864) to the interview? I'm so nervous.

If your income doesnt meet the FPGL'S fir your household size, then yes you will need a co-sponsor because your financial situation has changed. They will need to fill out an I864 and meet the FPGL'S for their household plus you as the beneficiary.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Just my 2 cents, at the interview, they hardly ask for I-864 again. Worst scenario, they will RFE for joint sponsor which can be fulfilled easily. Good luck.
