Surgery and Embassy interview & medical exam

Hi all,

We are expecting to get our NOA2 around March/April (based on the current processing times) and I just found out today that I need to get yet another surgery on my foot that will keep me from walking for around 4 months.

Since I will probably have my Embassy appointment and the medical exam around the same time, I would like to know if being on crutches will hinder my chances at getting approved or if they will fail my medical exam.

If that's the case, how can I avoid this? can I reschedule my appointment so I can go without crutches?

Thank you very much!

You will still pass your medical if you’re using crutches, just be sure to take a note from your doctor which explains the surgery and your prognosis.

Thank you for your answer! Prognosis is good, I just need this operation so down the line I don't develop a limp that will impair me.

Thank you for your answer! In was worried they could deny me based on the fact that I could become a burden to the health system or the Government.
