I took an Asbestos supervisors class last week. Most of the workers now are Hispanic (our Hispanic instructor said) and they pay $16 an hour for an asbestos laborer. He said the starting wages in 1984 were $14 an hour. Hispanics are willing to work under unsafe conditions (he said) because they don't want to lose their job.

example: warm water for showers is a requirement but if there is none they will just not shower after coming out of an asbestos area. The Hispanics won't speak up. Have fun with that asbestoses and lung cancer :help: Just don't contaminate your family or the community.

Immigration (both legal and illegal) is a HUGE topic and there are a lot of injustices going on, no doubt.

I just find it inconsistent and intellectually dishonest to be openly skeptical about certain information on certain issues, while other information is accepted without question. As Alex indicated - we believe what we want to hear. In a free-thinking country, that's a dangerous habit.

I don't care if they are all clean and otherwise law abiding. They all need to go home and not be given prefered status. They need to be treated just like anyone else wanting to come to America, by the rules.

Gary, you've stated the obvious and you're certainly entitled to that opinion. But in essence, you're saying that you don't care what kind of misinformation is fed to the public about immigrants. That's a callous attitude.

All this other stuff is just mudding the water. When you have a large group of people thumbing their noses at the law they open themselves up to this kind of predjudest. The fact remains that they are undocumented and here without permission. That all by itself is enough for me to want them to go home and do it the right way. Your debunking of these "myths" makes no difference one way or another to my opinion.

"People thumbing their noses at the law" is a take on illegal immigrants. It ISN'T a fact. Their status here may not be legal, but you've concluded that they're 'thumbing their noses at law' simply on that single issue. I think it was Gupt who explained to you that what is legal and what is just are not always synonymous. Your stuck on that. Just as long as you see the difference between an opinion (people thumbing their noses at the law) and fact (immigrants who are here illegally).

No one on here is Anti immigration, The campaigns are NOT anti immigration

It is ANTI -ILLEGAL Immigration that most Americans are bothered by.

These ILLEGAL FEDERAL CRIMINLAS and their spewing followers fail to recognize is that ILLEGAL ALIENS are NOT classified the same as Immigrants

Tolerance and other groups like to combine illegal immigration & Immigration and make arguments that those who are agaisnt ILLEGAL Immigration are ANti Immigrant.

ILLEGAL ALIENS knowingly break the law, create more poverty, more crime, murder, rape and steal, in addition to that they live in Clown houses multi families in one roof in violation of health 7 Building habitability codes turning anywhere they occupy into a 3rd world environment, they carry no auto, Health or any other kind of liability self sufficient insurance yet they like to steal and take from a system they are not derserving nor contribuitng to.

They need to be deported back to the arm pit of the nation they crawled from, if they feel that they shoul dbe treated the same as LAW ABIIDNG Immigrants they are wrong.

Illegal Federal Criminal ALiens Do NOTHING for USA they only bring poverty, crime, like a cancer they spread detroying everything they contact and shoul dbe deported & made to go through the process legally AFTER PAYING for allthey have stolen, Back taxes, restitttion to all those they have Stolen from & Then Wait behind everyone else who is going through the process legally.

Stupid ignorant Illegal Alien Advocates continue to try to manipuklate public opinion and claim it is about human rights or ani=ti-immigrant when it is plain truth it comes down to law ABding versus Criminal Intent to break federal laws and avoid any rules or regulations.

Many Americans are unhappy with the immigration status quo and politicians need to stop pandering to law-breakers.

Set that aside for a moment and follow the paper trail. This is important. I don't doubt the sentiments Americans have towards immigration are their own, but we need to think critically about the entire issue of immigration and how such views or attitudes can be shaped, particularly when such claims are being reported by the media. This affects all of us here who have a foreign spouse or are involved in the immigration process.

Get it through your thick head, It is NOT ABOUT IMMIGRATION,

IT IS ABOUT ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIENS, VIOLATING FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS AND TAKING AWAY FROM LEGAL CITIZENS/ RESIDENTS

DO NOT COMBINE THE TWO Legal Immigrant & ILLEGAL FEDERAL CRIMINAL.

Whether it’s propaganda or not, the fact still remains that we have an invasion of undocumented individuals sneaking into the United States illegally and we need to do something about it beyond granted a "get out of jail free card" for breaking our immigration laws. We’re not talking a handful of folk. There are MILLIONS of undocumented individuals. That’s crazy! The only thing that I have seen or read from those who support these undocumented aliens is some type of amnesty program. It's a sad state of affairs. The long arm of the law should extent to those who house, employ, and support illegal immigration who that are not authorize to do so. It's socially, economically, and legally irresponsible. Everyone is overlooking the fact that we do have a formal process for migrating to America that many of us have busted our tails to follow the letter of law. So should they...

It's like someone jumping the gate to your property and deciding to live there. Would you say, "By all means, stay as long as you like!"

Nicely put, although your sugar coating ILLEGAL CRIMINALS as " undocumented immigrants" is BS, they are no more than Criminals, their 1st act on USA soil is that of criminla defiance, they drive illegally, Do not pay taxes, do not pay for health care or othe rpublic benefits they steal from those legally here who need it, they evade taxes, stela , commit other violent crimes, support crime, drug activity and cause Health problems with their clown houses violating Helath Habitability codes.

I agree that those who employ these Criminal scumbags should face full criminal prosecution. And those who are found to be here illegally should be dorted THEM AND THEIR ENTIRE LEECHING FAMILY,

Not singling out latinos or those from southern border, I say round up all those illegal Swedes and Irish men. Give me a break, We know where the problem lies we know once a Fenc eis built that is secure and guarded with Military on our Southern border the Numbers will decline by the Millions.

What politicians fail to recogmnize is these criminals they are trying to accomodate DO not have voting rights let alone any other rights for that matter.

So whne it comes down to it the American Voters will have the final say, it may have to get ugly and come down to feuding riots, but these scum bags who think they can illegal cross into out land , Sh*t on our lawn and not get the ####### kicked out them are wrong. They are nothing more than stray dogs that need to be caged and put back where they came from.

I think she/he meant that the ones here contrary to the law puts a bad light on all immigrants. Not sure if I agree with that as most can keep it seperated.

I disagree that most who advocate Amnesty can keep it seperate, it is always combine to make it appear as those who are agaisnt amnesty are against Immigration.

They two are distinctly different and need to be addressed as such.

Illegal Criminal Laines Should be Given nothing short of a long CROWDED Bus ride back Home.

I don't care whether those myths are true or not. Illegals are flouting US immigration law and the countries sending them en masse are trying to tell us we can't be a sovereign nation and enforce our own f*cking borders.

Screw that. The day we let Mexico dictate our immigration policy is the day I take the plunge and vote Republican. Yeah, you heard me. This sh!t needs to stop. No matter what you say, they ARE depressing wages and they DO cost taxpayers billions. You can contort the statistics any way you like, but what states are the ones with the biggest budget problems? Oh yeah, the ones with big illegal populations like California and Texas.

And if you think they don't depress wages, just look what they've done to meatpacking, and look how they're victimized so you can save a couple of cents per pound on meat.

Personally I'm not willing to allow this sort of exploitation just for the sake of MONEY, and I think illegal enablers are practically advocating slave labor. I think it's incredibly selfish.
