MMR and AOS

So I've arrived in the states now on the K1 visa! I have not had my full MMR vacination (need a booster for mumps but have heard that I will need to get the full MMR again here now). I hear that the MMR requires 2 shots - 4 weeks apart. My question is do I have to have had both shots before we send of for AOS? Or would having 1 shot and the date of the next shot be ok? The reason I ask this is because when me and Jamal get married I will be able to get MMR free on his military health care. We will be married around 2 months when I get the 1st shot and if I need to wait for the next one, I will probably be over the 3 month vaild period for my visa. Does anyone have any info or advise for me?? Many thanks.

Your vaccinations should be up-to-date when you file as a civil surgeon will need to complete a DS-3025 accordingly. You don't have to file for AOS within 3 months.... don't worry about that. Just get your vaccinations and file as soon as you can. As long as you're married within the 90 days, you're fine.

Like the previous post you don't have to worry about doing AOS within the 90 days, the main requirement is the GET MARRIED within the 90 days, of course the sooner you send your AOS form the sooner you can get the green card, when my fiancee now wife went for the Doctor interview she was given the required shots for the visa, and the rest would be taken here in the states. When you go to your local civil surgeon bring a copy of the immigration medical report part of it has the 693 vaccination supplement, the doctor will tell you what shots that you need to satisfy the USCIS requirement and you can send out your AOS. Another word of advice you can not open the envelop from the civil surgeon as such as them for a Copy of the report, in case anything fishy or go wrong you have a copy in hand to back it up.

As far as I know, the MMR is only one shot. The ones that require a series (if you have not had them before) are tetanus and varicella.

That's weird. I got ONE mmr shot and that was it. I passed all my medical stuff so I'm a bit confused.

If you do fall into a cetegory where you're required to have the Hepatitis B series of three shots... you only have to have completed the first in the series before you send off the AOS application.
