Hahaha dont be mean geez 38 is still young

And yea yea im so agree with the last sentence.

Well I get picked on as well because I have alot of gray hair for only being 35. The problem with me is that the people on my dad's side of the family all get gray hair when we are young(men and women). I have a cousin who had a head full of gray hair by the time she was 28. So she picks on me for being her "old man" and has done that since we met in 2010.

Haha that make sense ..but im sure your gray hair would not make you look older..if people think that because of your hair just tell them you just did hair color 😂😂

My asawa has felt the same way when we moved from Los Angeles to NC. We literally moved from a place that had a Filipino store at the end of the street to a place where the closest Asian store is 30 minutes away. What really helped my wife is we found a Filipina in our subdivision that knew alot of the other Filipinas in this area so she has met alot more of them in the past couple of months, we even were amazed because we were invited to a Filipino Christmas celebration last month. Also what is amazing is that we have ended up meeting alot of Bisaya so my wife is really loving that since she is from Mindanao.

What I found out that has helped us meet new pinays and other people to know your a Filipino is having this sticker on your car. It is a nice sticker and really stands out.

I actually have that on my car. Weird!!

We have a slightly different situation here in Hawaii.  The population here is 23% Filipino.  It's east to meed Filipinos.  But another unique thing is I am 61 and my wife is 25.  So whenever I see an older Caucasian  man with a young Filipina wife I just walk up to them and ask if they are married. (Very common in Hawaii to see older American men with younger spouses.)  No one has ever been offended.  In fact we have made dozens of friends by doing this. Of course Hawaii is different than many other states.  People here are more open and less afraid of people approaching them.  We live on the island of Maui and we have dozens of Filipino stores, restaurants, etc...  And thousands of Filipino speaking residents.  Life is grand!

P.S.  We have a 22 month old daughter and are now expecting our second child which is a boy.  David

That was how it was in California as well, our biweekly ritual was to go to Glendale and get some Jollibee for the kids and Chow King for us.

Yeah I found it online and bought a couple for my asawa's car and my Tahoe. That led us to meeting the Filipina that is the regional social butterfly and has greatly expanded my wife's Filipina friends. I have had to order 2 more of them for older pinay. Which I will be giving them tomorrow when they have the biweekly Bingo bash that my wife decided to host at our house this time.......

We live in the Carolinas, so not a broad Filipino culture here. My husband is Swedish, but his parents are Filipino by birth. He commented once about how not only are there not a lot of Euros around us, but he's never seen another Filipino. We were at the post office one day standing in line, minding our business, and out of nowhere we hear a man's voice from behind us saying "Hey! Are you Filipino??" so excitedly. He recognized Paul's features, and they struck up a conversation. The way it made his face light up just tickled me! I definitely wish there were more around for him to mingle with.

Håll ut, y'all.

Our only Jolli Bees are on Oahu.  But you can bet every time we take a trip to Oahu we are going to Jolli Bee.  Gotta have spaghetti, chicken, fries and of course white rice with gravy, all at once!

This is how I fell in love with the Philippines and the Filipino people.  Despite often times difficult circumstances they are the happiest, most giving people I have ever met. My spouse comes from Cebu City and her family is very poor.  But they are the happiest people I have ever met.  Go figure.  American kids are crying when there iPad battery is running low.  They should try eating one meal a day...if they're lucky.  God Bless the Philippines and the Filipino people.  David

Well it's funny, because I'm in Mexico and I'm from Venezuela. Both countries speak spanish of course but the accent is way different. Everytime I hear another venezuelan I get excited, sometimes I say hi, sometimes I don't,

But the most curious thing is than I've seen people in the street and I've thought "she / he is venezuelan" and later I heard they talking and  THEY ARE INDEED VENEZUELANS. I mean we latinos don't look the same at all (apart from the stereotype), but venezuelans (as other nationalities) came in all shapes and colors from blonde with green eyes to dark skin with afro hair. And we still somehow manage to recognize each other... I think that's crazy beautiful!

They really are! I was able to meet a lot of Paul's family when I visited Sweden last time before he moved here for good, and I have never felt more welcomed. I have pretty bad social anxiety, so going into a strange home surrounded by people I have never met before is usually really difficult for me. It was probably the first and only time I have done that, and felt comfortable immediately. I was even mingling without Paul by my side, which surprised me - he's usually my mental anchor. :) It just felt comfortable and easy! I don't always feel like that with my own family sometimes

It was also really nice to get such submersed exposure to that part of his culture and background, the Filipino part. I loved Sweden and getting familiar with Swedish culture, but it felt like a little corner of the Philippines, getting together with all of them like that in one's apartment or house. Most of them were speaking Tagalog and we had all Filipino food. It was awesome. One of my favorite parts of visiting Sweden, ironically.

Håll ut, y'all.
