With the Biometrics appointments, will my husband be going in only once to cover the AOS & EAD or will they make him go twice (one for each)? After the Biometrics appt for the EAD is that it until they approve him and send him his card? I know for AOS we get transfered somewhere then eventually have to go in for an interview at the local office (both of us I assume) for his greencard...

Thanks.

It will say right on his Biometrics letter what it's for. If it said only for EAD, then he'll have to go twice. You should get a second Biometrics letter in the mail. It's likely that the delay in your payment caused him to only get a date for EAD Biometrics.

Otherwise, make an Infopass appointment and see if they can change it so you only have to go once. I'm not sure if they can do that or not, but it might be worth a shot.

I'm in the same situation - just got a notice about my biometrics exam for the I-765/EAD, but am just about to send off my AOS application which includes a fee for another biometrics exam - so I'm going to have to go to exactly the same thing twice (and pay twice to boot!)?

There are different biometrics requirements for AOS and EAD. One requires more fingerprints than the other. Found this on another site re: the ASC codes on the appointment letters:

code 1 = fingerprinting

code 2 = index imprint, signature, photograph

code 3 = combining 1 and 2

EAD is I believe code 2 and AOS is code 3. When I went for my biometrics, my appointment letter was for both EAD and AOS. They did photograph, signature and all fingers.

This first one's code 2 (I guess because I didn't file for EAD and AOS at the same time).

Thanks

We filed for AOS and EAD separately, so there were two biometrics appointments. I don't know enough about it to say if that's standard, but that was our experience.
