sorry about that. you should  have  get a new passport with your correct name and date of birth before putting in the application. right now you have giving them a lot of work to do by going back to check why you have different names and date of birth in the system.

Not to take it personl but if you read thread you would know the reason why..like I said on the message I tried to correct it but the immigration officer in Lagos said it would take a longer time to rectify on renewal and will cost me more money to change any information..but I made a mistake to put in the application.

I have always being honest from the on set disclosing the other name on my ds 160,ds 260,i-129f and i-130 so they should have seen it there plus I have an affidavits of change of name..and the issue of the dob I told them it will take a longer time to rectify it and on renewal and it will cost me more money.. We have sent emails to the Us embassy and no response yet..dunno if the government shut down slowing this.

Sounds like you are in AP.  I have personally never heard of a CO telling you to pick up a passport in 10 days.  There is always some period of AP after the interview.  If your name was found to be different in the petition and they found out in AP that may be considered a misrepresentation.  All of that information should have been included in the petition.

What is your current CEAC status?  There was no paperwork with you returned passport?  Why didn't you list the other names used in the petition?  That is probably a serious problem as they see that you failed to disclose other names used.  Were there any arrests in any of your names?

They told us at interview that visa will be ready in 2 weeks. It was issued 3 business days later after interview.

So you've used different names and dates of birth on official documents and visa applications, but because you've now fessed up, you expect the embassy not to be super suspicious? My broda...

I think he is OK. He may be in AP a while but on the surface it looks suspicious but he has tried to explain it and he has been honest with the petition.

Did u provide a letter from the immigration that ur passport dob was fault of the immigration office? And that ur real dob should be this and this. Third world countries systems are full of loopholes and because of their foolishness innicent people have to suffer.

You're probably not aware of how prevalent cheating on one's age is here. Many people do it to qualify for educational and employment benefits, or to disguise their true identity. OP's may be the rare case of a true DOB passport error, but he is well aware of this practice, and the it's-too-hard-to-rectify excuse is not very convincing.

Agreed. His AP May last a while and he will have to convince them that his case is a simple mistake and not a fraud attempt. That may be an uphill battle.
