Hi,

I have a question regarding the requirement to submit passport-style photos with the I-751.

The instructions accompanying the latest form from USCIS (I-751 Rev. 10/26/05) state that the "conditional resident filing this petition must submit two standard passport-style photographs..."

However all the documentation on this site (which has always been very accurate) doesn't mention needing these photos. In fact, here: http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-re...itions.html#7.9 it states that successful removal of conditions requires another trip to the local office to apply for a new card (including bringing photographs.)

And here's one more source, the the M-603 photo requirement document:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/ne...Photo_flyer.pdf

This has a list of forms requiring photos, and the 751 is not among them.

More conflicting info from INS!

Any recent applicants know which is correct? Do we need to attach more photos?

Thank you to everyone who contributes and makes this whole forum so useful!

wraith,

The I-751 and its requirements have only recently been updated - 3 months ago. There may be 10s, perhaps 100s, of USCIS documents, both paper and online, that may contain relevant references. It's not surprising that not all of them have yet been updated, and some obscure ones may never be.

Don't know what VJ's excuse is. (Yet you don't take them to task for failing to update.....)

You don't know what VJ's excuse is? LOL

Ummmm how about just very recently having to move everything to a new site? That might have something to do with it not being updated. Altho it might have been the perfect oppotunity TO update, I think the Captain had his hands full enough as it was, don't you?

So sorry,

I didn't intend to start a VJ-bashing debate, just to point out the descrepancies in available information!

Thanks for the advice. I'll just be sending in photos as per the latest Form!

VJ is nothing more than a collection of members. If something on the site needs to be updated, someone has to take the initiative to write it up and submit the change for peer review, then ask Ewok to post it.

To the OP: Use the most current instruction on uscis.gov . Anything here is likely to be outdated, the FAQ in particular!

I sent a link to the new I-751 Instructions to Ewok for reference and included and submitted the changes/edit that needs to be done with the I-175 Guide here on VJ.

VJ is an awesome site, but it is what it is, a forum, and NOT an official USA government website. Majority of the info on here is correct, but the onus is still on you. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Sharon,

A crash a week or two ago is the reason that an update wasn't made 3 months ago? (3 months for this issue, longer than that for some others)

meauxna provided a reasonable explanation, and flames an appropriate caution.

VJ forum is just additional help at your immigration process. Its not official site as USCIS. If something is not updated on time don't blame admin for that. You should ALWAYS check USCIS official site for current fees and new forms and information.
