the interivew is for the IR1 visa. I'm not sure how NVC took the order of the application. For our IR1, it took awhile from NOA1 to NOA2.

All the best to you!

Hi all,

Please add me to the list, our NOA2 for the I-130 was 7/2/2007. yayayaya!

We are still waiting for the NVC to receive our case from CSC. From what I've seen, it is taking about 3 weeks for the NVC to receive cases from USCIS. Is that a good estimate?

Thank you! :) Lady Jane

Hmm... so strange that Karina (but I'm still very very happy for you!!!:) got an interview when she was completed on June 1st, but some of the others who were completed back in April/May haven't been scheduled yet.

I was excited before, but now with that info, I'm not sure whether I should let myself get excited anymore.

The only possible explanation I can think of as to why some earlier cases are still waiting while some of the newer ones have interview dates already is if they use the same type of system the USCIS service centers use when they adjudicate our petitions...(NOA1-NOA2.)

If they do, that means all our files are put into boxes in a storage place in a semi-organized manner. Each employee grabs a box and brings it to their desk and goes through it one at a time until the box is empty. For the most part, it sounds like they kept the boxes organized in a way that the most recent months were at the front where they grabbed from first, so I guess the only way recent cases could get put before a earlier case would be if an employee grabbed a box, then went on vacation, or didn't have as much time to get back to it during the next few days, thus leaving some other cases farther behind for an interview date.

Or...they are going by the application date, not the case completion date. If that is the case, I have a while to go yet...ugh.

Anyways, I'm rambling. Just trying to figure out whether or not it is worth it for us to start getting excited or not.

I just noticed that thermopile is probably an IR-1, not a CR-1... married over two years, right? And karina is an IR-1.

I'm guessing that they schedule the IR-1s on a different schedule than the CR-1s. I'm a CR-1 and case complete April 16... no interview. I called again today because I read this thread, got all excited for nothing. I asked the operator directly, and she told me that the date that your case is complete is the date that you're in line, and they schedule the interviews chronologically according to that date. I was assured that NO, they did not skip over me (I was annoying today) and that I am on the waitlist.

Comelly, can you add me to the timeline? I'm afraid I don't have many exact dates - my hubby has all the paperwork.

Filed I-130 Sept 2006.

NOA2 Dec 28 2006

Sent the last forms end of March (28 or so?)

Case Complete April 16, 2007.

Anyone want to call Washington DC? I asked how many interviews were given in Montreal per month, and the operator gave me the number to the Visa Center in DC. I think we should organize a mass calling operation.......

I'm up for anything, if it helps to cut down the wait time from 4-6 months to two months lol. Give me the number and the questions to ask and I'm all over it.

Hopefully as they said, these are scheduled in chronological order. That still doesn't explain how people like you and Len and Bren got skipped over, but I'm sure they will come to you guys next month. This is NVC, not Montreal...I still have a *little* faith in them :P

LOL Misty,

What the heck are you going to ask them?? Like it's going to do any good. If you seriously want the number, message me and I will give it to you! And if you get anywhere with them, then I'm game!!!

No, I don't think we got skipped over... karina is an IR-1 and I'm a CR-1. Somehow, it sort of makes sense that if you're married over two years and still apart, living in different countries, then they should get priority over us newlyweds.

"Newlyweds" being married a year and almost 3 months........ arrrrrrrrrrrgh........

Len and Bren are a DCF, I think? They are scheduled through Montreal, not NVC, which is supposed to be even longer of a wait. Ridiculous.

All this is guessing on my part. I know I should stop guessing and get on with my life, but every month, getting the hopes up, then the downward crushing feeling.... waaay worse than bad PMS...

I love it when people ask me, "So how's married life? Over a year, right?" ARRRGHHHH!!!

hee hee oh my friends please don't try to figure out what is going on with the timing of any of this immigration bs. I'm afraid that it may be one of those inpenetrable paradoxes that could cause you to loose your minds.

I bought our plane tickets today. Decided that the fact that I managed to rearrange my schedule coupled with the great Air Canada sale that was going on today was a sign that I should go too. Oh and I love Montreal and want to show the hubby our future home.
