Anybody know if NVC is done scheduling for October yet?

Yep, they were done Friday @ midnight.

I just called. They're not done scheduling yet.

I phoned on Friday and was told to try Wednesday of this week. :(

I did manage to get through to the NVC today (@9PM EDT). I was told to try back on Wednesday as they have not finished scheduling yet.

I just called NVC, was on hold for about 5 min, talked to very nice lady, she told me "they finished sch. for Oct last week and we didn't get an interview, so I should call second week of Nov, or Dec and hopefully I'll get a good news by then"

This morning I was told to call back Friday.

Seriously, what the hell is going on at the NVC? Why is it not possible to get a consistent response from them?

I've been holding off on calling so far this month because I not feeling up to (likely) facing further disappointment. :( This situation is maddening....

I think NVC took some stupid pills half a year ago.

I think it's been going on longer than that. Remember those kids in school who used to tie plastic bags over their heads, wonder what they do for a living? Now you know.

BTW, I just spoke to the NVC ten minutes ago and October scheduling has been completed. Me no go MTL, IR5 very angry, GRRR!

Well, I called -- and, sure enough, disappointment it was.

The guy I spoke with was pretty cheeky, to boot. When I commented (in jest, of course!) about having heard the same "the State Department cannot provide an estimate of when..." speech six months in a row now, he responded, "No, you didn't; it was actually changed about a month ago." He also told me to try calling back again next month: "Maybe we'll surprise you." <_<

I heard the disclaimer and I complemented the officer on his lucid prose. He laughed about it and apologized profusely but it sounds like you got a real SOB. :(

I'm glad you still have a sense of humor. I try not to take this whole process too seriously. It just isn't worth it to worry oneself into an ulcer or worse. I remember filing an I-824 and waiting 7 mos. just to have Mom switched from AOS (USCIS misinformed me on filing out the forms) to CP and going crazy trying to get the processing expedited.

Well Sheeeeeeeeet.

Efffff them all.

I think it's time to start a mass letter campaign. I don't know who to write to. Senators apparently do no good.

NVC blames Montreal for the backlog.... Montreal apparently answers their emails.... Anyone up for it... ??

Sense of humor? No, not anymore. I hate being an honest person and doing things the legal way. If we were all just to sneak on in and live and work here illegally..... it would all be okay, according to our government.

To be fair, I did pester him with a series of rather annoying questions -- most of which I knew he couldn't or wouldn't answer -- in a feeble attempt to get him to reveal any sort of valuable information. Everything from how many CR1 interviews are scheduled each month and how many are left in the queue (and if *any* were scheduled in October), to what happens if the magical two-year mark passes while still waiting for an interview (only two months to go!). I failed to crack him, unfortunately, but we did share a few chuckles.

I'd be up for it -- although I can't realistically hope that it would lead to anything.

Looking back, my wife and I probably never should have bothered with this whole mess in the first place. I've been back in the US for a year now and this place seems less and less appealing as the days go by.

I have alson pestered NVC operators with the same questions and all they do is give me the number to the Visa Center in Washington.

Also looking back, I would have moved to Canada if I had known about this whole mess. I still might. Hey, if I do that, then file for a DCF, I'd be interviewing quicker than all of us have been waiting right now.

6 months of living there.... 6 months for the DCF process... it'd be quicker than what we've done.

I've also harassed the NVC people with endless questions and every once in a while you do manage to glean a few morsels of info. Keep at it and don't be discouraged!

Does anyone know for sure that the automated line updates once you get your interview? Does it say you've been sent to the consulate or whatever? Because I cannot stand the thought of talking to another operator.

Oh yea, and how does it make us all feel to know that people from Nigeria get their CR1 interviews faster than Canada?

Phillipines is two months...

According to the stats, Afghanistan is only one more day wait to interview than Canada....

No offense to anybody from those countries, but come ON, Canada? Our neighbors that we boss around all the time?

Canada is a land of socialist-that's only one scary step away from communist. So of course we have to protect ourselves from importing too many Canadians.

Actually, my personal theory is that we're being punished for not being rich enough to just import our foreign spouses and support them while they wait for the visa. It proves that we're not that good of capitalists:therefore not that good of Americans.

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003
