well, i had my interview april 17th. i got temporary refusal i guess the forms they gave is 221g. my hubby and co-sponsor at that time dont earn much, their income is at the borderline of the poverty level. I called the us embassy call center and she said that my petition is still at the us embassy and all i need to do is to turn all the affidavit of support again with enough income, so once submitted they are going to review my petition and they will let me know either letter or call if they are goin to schedule me to another interview. I am pretty positive that 221g form is just that they need to give u more chance to submit everything to satisfy them to let you enter to the US.

K3 VISA:

Hi..

thanks for sharing your experience with 221g form.

I guess your right, 221g is their way to demand for more supporting documents.

I hope some other applicants, will take time to share their experience too. Since I'm trying to analysis the possible reasons why applicants end up with 221g form. In that way, the new applicants will be aware with this.

thanks,

alexandra

Well I'm going to throw out an number here. I'm guessing maybe at most 10% of K-1 visa applicants (VJ'ers) going through Manila get AR. Some common reasons I've seen are:

Name on BC spelled differently than what was on the petiton sent to USCIS.

Name on passport spelled differently than what's on BC.

Late registered BC.

Income below 125% of poverty guidelines. (sometimes this is an outright denial, sometimes the embassy holds the file and gives people a chance to provide co-sponsor)

Others I've seen put through "FBI name checks" again seemingly for no reason at all.

These seem to be the most common reasons from what I've seen in my time here on VJ.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Hi! I was in AR too and it takes 28 days for me to wait to issue my visa. I also receive a 221 g form and that time I was totally freaking out coz my other friend got there visa after 3 days and mine was on AR. I was really sad and worried that time. I just thought that they will denny me for no reason. About our papers, well we are complete and he had enough money to support me coz he is in the Military. I just guess why I am AR that time because of my name coz my name was hit on the NBI coz there's a lot of the same name that I have. And the second is his address, he was in Vegas when he filed our papers and he moved here in Arizona after I received an appointment. It was really frustrating that time but I never lost hope. I keep on praying and writting a petition of every monestery to help me pray for my visa approaval. And one day the delbros txted me that my visa will deliver one to three days. I was so happy!! but I was little worried coz I just don't have any idea if they approaved my visa or the embassy denny me and send back my passport. I was thrilled and very excited to get my visa in hand. Delbros sent to me like almost one week and before that I was worried again. I just didn't know what will be the result or the delbros lost my visa. I was wondering why it takes to long for them to deliver my visa when my friend's visa deliver right after the embassy released. It was another worry, I almost lost hope then again I tried to be strong and be positive. Finally the visa delivered to me and when I open my passport it I was approaved!!! I was so happy that time when I held my visa in hand. I was at eased and feeling better. I was very thankful to God that he heared my prayers. My advised now to those who are now in AR please don't lost hope keep on praying to God just have faith on him and be strong. Never lost hope.
