235 days and still waiting for EAD, AP already approved

Hello People,

 

I am after some advice or to see if anyone has experienced similar.

I am on a K1, came to USA in March 2018, was married April 2018 and filed AOS, EAD and AP.

Have been approved my AP on August 30th 2018.

Have now been waiting 235 days for my EAD, have phoned 3 times and been given 3 reference numbers for case inquires as they are now out side normal date range.

They will not process my combo card allowing my travel without the EAD being approved.

What to do? I need to get back to Australia by this March!

What is the issue?  If you have AP, you can travel.  You don't need an EAD to travel.

The problem is that I have been approved the AP but it has not gone into production.  I do not have any physical documentation to travel with because the AP goes with EAD on the combo card.

Wondering how did they approved your AP while your EAD is not.

Your guess is as good as mine.  All i know it that I'm running out of time before I need to go home and this "you should hear from us in 30 days" is driving me right proper bonkers. I'm at a loss of what to do.  I can call again next week to speak to a tier 2 officer and maybe get somewhere, Maybe? but with the shut down I am probably the least of their problems.

When did you receive the approval for the AP?

 

To this day, my EAD application still says “case received”.  I was mailed a combo card though, and the AP case number was the only one that ever updated.  

 

I ask about your approval date, because if it was recent (like a couple days) maybe both are approved and one status will go to “card mailed” shortly?

The first call I made I rang because I thought it might have got lost in the mail so I rang to check. They told me "hmm there seems to be a mistake and they haven't sent into production" So they gave me a case inquiry number and said wait 30 days for an outcome. They then told me  I have to wait for the EAD before it can go to production because they go hand in hand for the combo card.

I have rung two further times and made case inquires on my EAD with no response to date. It's now been 235 days waiting for an answer for my EAD. Which is clearly way out of the date range. I'm concerned.

Oh yikes.  That’s terrible. 

 

Definitely call again, and try and speak to someone higher.  They definitely need to fix that for you.
