07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Aw TBone that sucks about your missus's motor-hope it's not too expensive to get fixed. 

 

Went to county clerk's office yesterday to apply for our marriage license, that's exciting!  Airline wants to charge over a hundred quid to cancel my return flight,  bloody gits!

 

Hope everyone is groovy x

SAT, thanks for the note on not qualifying for your IRA deduction. The income limits for someone who participates in a retirement plan through their employer are much lower than I had imagined. I'll have to keep an eye on this going forward as we're close now with my wife shifting from part time to full time work.

I changed the battery in the CRV a couple months ago. The stupid computer still didn't reset. 

I've been driving it for a week. 

Still can't pass inspection. 

Pain in the azz...
