We visited Seattle for a week a great Many years ago and were completely unimpressed, yawn and even gag man.

We don't understand how anyone could ever live in the Specific Northworst, no man.

Back when I lived in upstate NY, I liked the idea of someplace that didn't get very hot but didn't snow either.

Also had the idea of heading back around Boston to be closer to my friends from college.

So of course the job that I finally got to get out of Rochester was in San Diego.

Not leaving as long as I can pay the rent, man. 🙂

Well, isn't that just typical. Serves me right for dissin LR last night.  We had a raid on the drug house over the road just before midnight.

I heard them coming along the road, sounded like a lot of cars roaring along in a group, which you just don't hear out here.  Hardly a surprise then, the amount of noise they were making just driving up there.

The only light on at that house was on the front porch. The car one of them drives was parked out in front, and the cops had the place pretty well blocked off from the road.  For the next hour, they pounded on the door, peered in the windows, searched all around the back with very bright torches, back to pounding on the doors. Of course, no one came to the door.

The thing is, there would have been somebody there. There is always somebody there. If one person at the place leaves, within a minute someone else drives up and stays until the first person gets back.  You would think they are providing continual care so some old person, that never can be left alone.

After roughly an hour, they packed up and left emptyhanded.  And within 15 minutes, somebody turned off the porch light. So ya.

Today it's back to business as usual.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

If it's a search warrant, they would have gained entry by taking the door.

If it's what's known as a "no knock" warrant. They take the door without ever knocking.

It seemed odd to me, that all they did was knock and wander around. They must have had an actual reason to take the trouble to arrive over there in numbers. So, no one answered the door, so they leave? Seems pointless to me.

I'm pretty sure the house across the street form us is a meth house. Police are always over there. Usually taking someone off to the slammer. The Grandmother looks like a meth addict and is always being carted off by ambulance. A few houses up the road is a lot more discreet. They just have the usual drug pickup and drop offs.

If I could I'd buy a house and tell the Hillbilly to suck it up and pay for it. But I'm not like that and will just keep pointing out how much we need to get out of here. So far I'm looking at Greenbrier, but I'm also going to look more the other direction to see what I can find. It's a pain trying to find what I want.
