Married La Colombiana one week after V-day so we just combine the two celebrations. It's also nice that Santa Fe restaurant week always falls the week after v-day on our anniversary date so we get a nice dinner at a better price than the rubes who go out on the 14th. It's rumored that Santa Fe has almost 400 restaurants for a city of 80,000 people, so there's lots to choose from.

Employees Cost Money, so they are to be replaced by robots, sigh man.

We are allotted ONE trash bin (choice of Many, Many, or Many gallons) and ONE recycle bin (only of Many gallons), inadequate man.  Nothing ever fits into them, no man.  Furthermore, there is only ONE bulk-trash collection per month, wholly inadequate man.  Even furthermorely, they skip our street half the time, Heads Must Roll man.

We're surprised that our former HOA didn't try to crack down on residents when the City decreed this bin program, surprised we man.  However, one will get a nasty letter if one's freshly emptied bins are left curbsided one minute after the truck has passed, count on that even if no one is home to pull them back in man.

 

I'm in favor of it for the sake of the employees. Lifting the old trash bins must have been hard on their backs. 

 

Why can't you get more? We are actually paying less for our wheeled trash than our two old-fashioned cans, but that isn't the case for most people in town, especially the older people who would just pay by the bag.  Our recycling ones are 96 gallon and we've usually filled both of those and then co-opted some of my mother's by pick up day. They only grab that once a month.  The trash one is only 64, I think, but they pick it up once a week.

Some of the trucks will empty the bins, then leave the lids open to show that they're empty, duh man.

This lets rainwater into the muck on the insides, and future contents stick there, both gross man.

The bins are a cop-out boondoggle, go back to 2-man/1-driver human collection man.

It is winter here 9 months a year, so I haven't noticed a smell yet. We do have a hot water hose outside, so we could just rinse it out.

For anyone humping for an Amazon HQ's in their city, they should visit the slow moving disaster Seattle has become over the last 10 years. Full disclosure: I left Seattle (24 yr resident) in 2011 and returned several times since on visits. Bottom line, these tech companies don't want to locate in the sticks or in some 2nd or 3rd rate city. They want all the culture and none of the taxes associated with 1st rate cities. It's the same thing with sports stadiums. These are all lousy deals. Call the bluff on these tech companies and sports teams. Until we do, these blackmail (kompromat) moves will continue forever.

We get multiple appeals per day to open expansion POTS headquarters locations, solicit we man.

It's gotten so we tell the staff, "Send them POTS-HQ form letter #1"; "send POTS-HQ form letter #2"; "send POTS-HQ letter #Many"; etc. man.

 

Then we bill these people half a buck for our postage expense in replying, fiscally responsible we man.
