I've had the flu once in my life.  I refuse to get the flu shot unless required to.

Just once?  You are lucky.  I hadn't started to get it until recently, but it is a job requirement.

A lot of kids in town were also getting it as a preventative because there are two children in their school who are on chemo at the moment.

I've had tonsillitis more times than I can count and now suffer from abscesses in my throat and can't take amoxicillin because it's ineffective for me which means more expensive antibiotics.  I once spent a week off work with an IV catheter in my arm so I could get daily IV treatments for my abscessed tonsil.   BUT just the flu once, when I was 7 turning 8.  I hate orange jello because of it.  Dr told my mom to get me to eat anything at all and jello would be fine.  All we had was orange.  🤮  I don't recall much of the time since it was when my dad kicked me out of the house so a lot was happening then.

I had the flu shot when my ex FIL was suffering from his cancer and needed radiation.   But otherwise I don't because I don't work places that require it.  People who get the shot always end up sick.  I never get it and don't.

That sounds terrible and not just the tonsillitis, but also the dad part.

The Dane didn't get the flu vaccine and I'd say he has it the worst. He was having such a difficult time of it yesterday morning, I almost brought him into the ER.

without the flu vaccine, if you get it, it is worse than if you get it after the flu vaccine.

Just skimmed the thread.

Hope all you that are sick feel better too.

We don't get the flu shot here either. The Jedi couldn't even if we normally would. The kids and I had a terrible cold. Ok well I had a terrible cold and since I'm so warned(ok that word doesn't look right any way i try)  down it just hits me hard.

Took the kids to the HD workshop yesterday too. It's so nice outside today and should be tomorrow too. We've been outside and prepping my yard for my ducks.

Ok off again time to feed the crew!

Same here as well. Unfortunately I got it when I was deployed in Iraq at the time. I was literally hating life for a good couple days and I was even forced to stand guard duty while sick as dog.

We are probably not sick, but we're feeling crummy, blah man.

Awoke unwillingly and feeling quite unrested, blah man.

Had to drop Mini-B. at his little amigo's for the day, road trip man.

Stopped at CVS to use a Many%-off coupon expiring today, $ave we man.

The usual Many (2+2) laundry loads, blah man.

Napped-without-cat for 1-&-a-half hours with not much relief, blah man.

Retrieved Mini-B., we retrieve wee man.

Dinnered at Wendy's with use of coupon, ingest we & wee man.

Conquered laundry, another week down the tubes man.

Mrs. T-B. returned with certificate from intense short course, return she man.

Going to try more HSM + vitamin C tonight, nuke whatever it is man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It makes a better man outta ya...

In the private sector, this integrity separates you from the scammers.

Christmas time, one of the girls here decided that she needs her tooth pulled (Bull). Anyway, she was out for the entire holiday, 2 weeks.

When I found out, I wanted to launch her. But it was decided among the bosses that it's better to let her face the cold shoulder from her co-workers.

I think Turtle's fever broke. She was 102-103.5 for about 30 hours. This morning she's 98.6, without medication for 9 hours. So...Keeping fingers crossed.

It's Chinese New Year's eve. The day of family reunion.

Many chinamen in mainland must be stuck in days long traffic trying to get back to the home village for the "reunion dinner".
