I'm trying to figure out whether I should order my special graduation honor cord thing or not. I think it states it is based on your in house GPA, which is a 3.91... but, my cumulative gpa from all schools is just a tad too low for them.  Hmmmmm.

My AKL flatmate got her packet yesterday.  Her sense of humor remains intact.

"The nice young man" who is her physiotherapist arrived yesterday afternoon to see her, and take her off to the gym. He remarked on her new shawl, what lovely colors, how well it looked with her lovely white hair. Nice lacey pattern, not too heavy to manage or hot. She looked him dead in the eye and said: "Look again sunshine."

She said the look on his face was a picture. "OMG!! Those are skulls! Who on earth would send such a sweet person as yourself a thing like that?"  She told him someone who knows her, very well.

Already cut down on the number of staff calling her Dearie and Luvvy. She is delighted :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

So a bit of good news today.... The property manager originally had a HVAC guy coming out tomorrow but they called me up this morning and asked if it's ok to come by instead instead so I said ok. They came by and fixed the heat in the house which it turns out the blower in the addict went out so he had to replace it.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
