There is so much truth with this.

 

My house is forever mid-explosion with the kids. It is just a never ending war that I'm losing. I can't both clean 4 hours a day and do schoolwork, work, cook, teach the kids things, work out, do yard work, and have some me time. Like today, I worked in the evening after cooking dinner, went grocery shopping, had 20 minutes to write something before midnight for class, and then took a test after midnight. 

 

I have repeatedly requested a second wife or husband? Do I get one? Nope.

Uggggghhhhh religious solicitors at the door.

 

I'm in my pajamas and only go to the door because it might be my neighbor with insurance info (yeah right).  Nope, they were trying to sell me religion in a round about way. So, I straight up asked them, told them I was secure in my beliefs. And he was like "how do you know?" me: my faith doesn't believe in proselytizing and I know yours does because such and such quotes (trying not to mention specifics here)

 

That was a weird interaction.

 

I should have been all like this, but I'm too nice and wimpy.

Haven't heard a word from the Polish Commie-babes since Steveklar took them to Dennys, oj nie.

My Mum, bless her heart. She opened the door one day not long after we had moved in to town in the early 1960's, to find a pair of people on her new porch wanting to engage with her in this way.

She looked over her shoulder, and pretended to yell out to my Dad, who wasn't even home at the time. "Raymond, get the axe"! Never a problem after. 

 

I didn't think that would fly today, given the current climate, so when the preacher living over the road invited us to come to his church, which has services twice a day seven days a week, I just told him we were terrible heathens.

We are actually Heathen with a capital H, but I just don't feel like I should have to explain to randos my religious beliefs, so I don't.

 

The Dane almost took someone up on the religious services offer, just out of curiosity, but I told him he shouldn't mix relationships and religion that way, especially if he wasn't interested in converting. It sends the wrong message. If you are just curious, go somewhere you don't know anyone.
