Cats and dogs can spread many things without direct contact.  For instance the parvo virus can live in an area for over a year including a home. You can bring in any of the feline distemper viruses to your cat on your shoes or toys that your son plays with.  Just like with human viruses they're very hardy and spread easily.

Miu should have FVRCP, FeLV and Rabies.  Every 3 years is fine for vaccinating.  My cats don't get FeLV but they are inside exclusively.  They need to come into contact with another cat to get this.

My clinic likes to see senior pets every 6 months, which I find a little excessive and keeps people away IMO.  In all honesty I like my previous clinic better.  The drs and the techs.  However, I can't deal mentally with the management and their inability to keep staff.  I just can't be on call 24/7  nor have an irregular schedule like that, for my own mental health.  I can deal with ALL the ER issues, seizing dogs, pets dying in my arms, people crying, and asking people for money for dead/dying/sick animals.  But I can't do it when I never have time to shut off my brain and be a normal person.

Anyhow sorry about the little clinic rant there.  Just got a msg, thankfully I'm not asleep yet, about going to work at 730am.  But someone is sick so gotta do what I gotta do.

But Tbone I wouldn't wait anymore.  It could be simple, like some parasites, or it could be serious like kidney disease.

Tired. I don't live in a condo :D

Finally finished up with the storm shelter, planted the tree in back and seeded the banks. Mowed the lawn today.

I called to cancel some appointments down the road today. The Arkansas river is out of its banks in several places, and the lock and dam in town is open river for the first time ever. Many of the roads near the water are shut, and the bridge out of town on 23 is closed until further notice.  Given that we have storms for tonight and tomorrow, I didn't want to end up getting out and not being able to get home.  We are fine where we are, way way above any potential flooding.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

The flooding is going to be bad here too. I'm on a pretty good hill no worry about flooding. All around me though is going to be underwater.

The Hillbilly's work sent of emails to everybody that they need to get their vehicles out of the parking lot and asking for volunteers to put out sand bags. I don't think that will help they are way too close to the river. They are within walking distance to the Big Dam Bridge.

This is Burns park soccer complex.

Middle of the night, and here I am. Or here we are.  Severe thunderstorm raging outside, and the dog doing her nut on the inside. She's happier as long as she can get under my desk, but I have to be sitting at it.  I'd really rather be in bed, but it is like sneaking away from an infant sleeping in their cot...you make a single move to get away and they are awake.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I sat up with that silly dog until the all clear went at 0415. Was woken up by another severe thunderstorm warning about 0945. Likely to be upgraded to a tornado watch by midday. I am over it.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
