Thanks TB, and thanks everyone else too. Don't mean to be a buzz-kill with this vent. Met the surgeon today.. he is a lovely man from South Africa with some *serious* street cred in the world of brains and stuff. I know he'll do his very best.

This is the rant thread, not to worry. Sounds from that like he will be in good hands.  We are sending you our best hopes for a great outcome.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Now it's raining....

I just stepped out to get lunch.

Before I left, I'm like "I'm going to get lunch, anybody want anything?"

It's common courtesy. I always ask, and I always treat.

There's usually 3 or 4 people laying around in the office. About half the guys will ask if anyone wants anything. The other half, no.

Man I have a bunch of ingrates working for me...

And, I never want anyone from work to wish me a happy birthday. I don't want them to spend money, get me a cake, etc...

But without fail, it's always those 3 or 4 that makes a point in marking it down on the calendar, getting me a bottle or a cake. It's thoughtful, and appreciated.

Now rant about something that we can make fun of. Tell us how you hate your husband or something. Or like he's weird, he's a pig, etc...

Yuna, sorry to hear about your family's health difficulties. Your story reminds me of my own family's stories around the time of the deaths of my mother and father 3 and 4 years ago. Take care of yourself during all this because emotions and stress will continue to run high for the duration.

Actual rant incoming:

The number of adults (with plenty of enough money) out here who think it is normal to have teeth pulled instead of getting a root canal is mind boggling.

Also, work/life related: the number of adult women who think it is normal to wear men's t-shirts not for painting/sleeping is also mind boggling.  If they make me do it, I'm going to quit. I'm not cross-dressing. The end.

@yuna628 Im sorry about your Dad.  I hope he is okay!

My step-dad has had some life threatening issues lately but is on the mend.  I get that is terrifying. *hugs*

Steve... that sucks.  Id be an appreciative employee.  I try to make sure I do most things with people at work.  I draw the line at overnight trips though,  even when they're fully paid for.

I planted flowers today.  I dont have enough planters for my flowers.  Oops.

It is all over the place, for sure.

The men's shirts thing and the general lack of initiative from anyone is the nail in the coffin for my feelings about living here.  I've just about had it.

On the Dane's suggestion, and despite me starting my other degree thing next week, I've applied for my first big girl job utilizing my degree.  I think I might be woefully under-qualified, but one has to bite the bullet sometime.
