So....my cousin....

few weeks ago, they go on vacation to Austria. 

The MIL (My cousin's wife, the one who's sister's son is the 20 year old who needs a kidney) tells the DIL (The third grade teacher) "Pick a bag, I'll pay for it" 

So, the DIL charges 1900 bucks for a Gucci. 

Now, the MIL has not given her the $ for the bag. And the DIL now must sell the bag lol at a discount. 

My take is, good. Now they'll learn. You can't live like you have a 300k income when you make 100k a year. 

This DIL is the one who's married to my cousin's son, who can't hold down a job, remember? the one that my Citi exec friends got a job for? 

 

Anyway....Tiff piggybacks on the DILs shopping spree and tells her to get a Chanel. Now she can't pay for it either. 

<sigh> FFS.... 

 

I'm like...we're going to Europe next year, the joy of these big ticket items is that you go spend the money yourself, enjoy  the shopping experience. It's no fun when someone else buys it for you....

I used to work in long Island City when I was a teen. First in a potato chip factory, then in a plastic company...

Used to take the train for 1.5 hours after school to get there, work 5-6 hours at minimum wage, take the train home again, get home around midnight...

I'd make around 130-150 a week. 

The one thing that stuck to my mind for life is,  man I don't wanna do this for the rest of my life...

Potholes here are killers. Hubs lost 2 tires.  Thankfully we had the summer tires but I had to take them off craigslist.
