So, I read a bunch of stuff online that said the equivalent of "bla bla bla you can't take your own passport photos and have them approved", etc. I knew this couldn't be true because I've done it for maybe the last 4 or 5 passports we've gotten, but hey, maybe they got more stringent.

I took this one with my iphone, not even a real/good camera like the last ones, and I got notified today that they've printed and mailed my new passport.

😎

Now, I hear the faint whisperings of Ikea Winnipeg, come to me Nola, eat meatballs, buy lots of unnecessary household items...

Canada is very strick you need the company stamp, date and siggy. No way to print it yourself.

Thankyou all very much for being so understanding & supportive. It's appreciated.

In 'other news ' I had a good experience at the Social Security office today, my application went smoothly & the gentleman was nice & helpful.

Random thought for the day- I really miss skating.

Big hugs

Glad something went easy for you. Maybe now the rest will fall into place

Thanks Nola, I agree on the importance of self care. I don't have skates& kit right now & with so many other expenses I really can't justify the purchase atm...at some point I will have to get myself kitted out again. In the meantime I can continue walking to the local park to practice Tai Chi & Qigong, also we have a gym set up in our basement here so I need to get to working out.

101% how on earth does that work?  Or is it the simple recognition of your sheer & utter brilliance?

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

I haven't been to the Empire State building since I was a kid, I think, but Top of the Rock is great for views. They were very strict about what could be brought up, so make sure you check the rules before you go.

Was to ESB and Top Of The Rock in 2010, so I can't wait to see how the city has changed :)

It would have been 103, but she took points off for not having enough references for a 2 sentences answer at the end.

Anyway, it was bonus questions.

I re-sized/ revamped my wardrobe. I was gonna throw out about 10 dress shirts. But Tiff scooped them up to pass out to her thuggy friends' husbands, Gump, her uncle, etc....

Hand me down....

My stepmother now thinks that I'm stealing her measly savings.

I blew my top and gave her a piece of my mind.

Told her that I've been an orphan since 10.

I'm not talking to her anymore.

I know what it is.

Her daughter needs money, and she's trying to get it from me.

No. Too ###### bad.

I'm not in the business of raising my sister's family.
