Speaking of cars... La Colombiana surprised me the other day saying her dream of buying a Lexus in the Fall is off if she gets accepted to a full bachelor's degree nursing program. The tuition and cut back from her full time work hours is going to put a squeeze on our household budget. Was never wild about the Lexus idea in the first place. Nice to see there's a condition out there where it gets pulled off the table.

I'm still over here dreaming of upgrading my 5 year old Subaru.

Helps when you dont have young children though and we're a two income household. We havent had to do any renos like you guys either but new siding is on the list this year.  Right now spending is halted until the other vehicles are sold.

No he didnt pay full retail.  I didnt pay full retail for my new car either.  We now have 3 collector cars that arent made any longer.  Lol

Oh for sure, we are constantly renovating and we've been paying for my school too on top of it all.  Just another $9k in tuition or so before that is all done.  My income right now basically doesn't even count as one, but they are covering my continuing ed classes for my license, and frankly, getting out of the house is nice.

 

I was looking at the car payment for the Traverse I want, and wow, I think it is between 450-500/month for 72 month financing depending on how much I put down.  I should look at used ones when we get a closer to when I'll be working full time.

I am driving a 2010Toytoa and hoping it will last a lot longer yet. A new one is not in the budget.

 

The MIL has lost her house to the mortgage company. Over 400 days for sale and no nibbles at all. Saddening /sarcasm.
