07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

In important economic news, this week's POTS sales again shattered previous volume & income records, $i man.

 

The net profit would enable us to treat the incipiently invading Polish Commie-babes to Many lunches even without use of coupons, although perish this last thought man.

 

Reporting all these broken records makes us feel like a broken record, exemplify real life we man.

But reporting them helps to inform and influence the national & world economies, crucial service man.

Since the NYC mayor seems to be an object that is occasionally mentioned in this thread... has any mayor of NYC ever gone on to become President? We all know about Rudy's run and there's no shortage of ambition (unlike his height) with Bloomberg. Dinkins, Koch and Beame never seemed to be the Presidential type. I vaguely recall John Lindsay being floated as a possibility but I think all the police corruption around the time of Serpico sort of sunk his chances. That's as far back as my memory stretches. Anyway, it just doesn't seem like being The Mayor is a very good stepping stone to higher office. Maybe someone should tell deBlasio.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
