Kavanaugh is just "better than" for me. Many laud him as a conservative judge, but he is not conservative enough on the issue most i portabt to me - abortion. He's "better than" a truly liberal judge, but let's not ptetend that he's another Scalia, or that Trump is another Reagan.

 

On the other hand, I would rather have even a populist or reactioary wolf in Republican sheepskin elect the next judge than a libreral. Ginsburg hired aides until 2020, but plans can change!

Couldn't agree more. I did not like the choice of Kavanaugh when there were better candidates to choose from. He is more of a Bush type neocon than a true conservative. However when I saw the viscous attacks from the radicals on the left I knew he had to be confirmed on the principle that this type of whitch hunt is unacceptable.

 

I am starting to become a little disappointed with Trump. He has done some good things but he is not keeping his word on everything he campaigned on. For example he needs to stop playing this government shutdown then try to negotiate with unreasonable people game and use his executive power to build the wall without Congress.  There are multiple legal ways he can do this. He needs to understand that unlike the business world not everything is up for negotiation. As far as the Supreme court goes Trump had two oppurtunities and in my opinion he could have done better. That being said compared to who Hillary would have picked we are certainly far better off. I hope if Ginsburg leaves in the next few years Trump chooses a better candidate this time.
