Please do anyone know if this US govt shutdown will affect the administrative process? I had my interview on 11 dec 2018 in Naples consulate Italy and my interview wasn’t bad and they have my passport which some say it’s a good sign but I’m Nigerian who married my wife in Italy who is also Nigerian and USC. Is that also reason for AP? Please help

thank u God bless

Shutdown megathread:

USCIS application and petition processing is fully funded via fees, so there's no impact there.

The consulates & embassies have their own funds to pull from via the fees they collect, but not all are not all self-sufficient and may require funds appropriated by Congress. To date there's no known issues with consular services, which handle visas.

No they do not stop any processes. The US Immigration services are funded directly by users and not in the Congress (US tax payers).

Thanks Deb

i know now that AP is just a waiting game but what are the chances of getting out of it alive and with a visa?..

If you are applying for the IR-1/CR (spouse) and your spouse is a US citizen, and you prove that your relation is real, then you have nothing to worry about. You have every right to apply and get the visa without any issues :)
