My wife's interview was 12 days after she sent in packet 3. Visa was at her house 14 days after she sent in packet 3. I do not think this is typical but it is possible.

Edit: I will add that the date was set for the interview 3 days after she sent in packet 3.

Our situation too about 5 working days. Our P3 was delivered on a Friday, I emailed them Thursday the week after to ask what was going on and the next day we got an email with the interview date.

Sadly our interview date was 4 weeks out. I wonder if it had anything to do with the cover page for P3 where they want to know your date of travel, I put down January since I was figuring she would have her interview within a week and wait two weeks for the passport to get back. I wonder if I had put December if I would have gotten a faster interview date.

Honestly I do not remember what she put, but I feel like it was ASAP. I think we just got lucky and the had a cancellation and put her in that spot. No way to really know though. They were getting the Visa's printed really quickly at that time about 6 months ago, not sure what the norm is though.

Oh ok. That's good to know that soon to know the interview date, my Fiance wrote down in April 2019 that she is planning on moving to Minneapolis.  I hope it's sooner than four weeks. We're hoping to get married on February 14th in Minneapolis.

You shouldn't make plans until you have the Visa in hand, plus the government shut down could cause additional delays if any air traffic controllers start leaving their jobs looking for something else that pays or custom agents doing the same or just calling in sick.

When asking immigrant visa specific question you need to email VISABKKIV@STATE.GOV

In the subject line write " IV inquiry ( your embassy case number)"

Then in the main text ask whatever it is you need.

I went back to the spreadsheet of all Thailand K1 applicants from the beginning of 2018.   The quickest I saw was 2 days, but I think that was an input error.    Best one after that was 10 days, which seems realistic.   Looks like a typical turnaround would be 14 to 30 days.   Unfortunately, the differential on the late 2018 and early 2019 entries look to more like 4-6 weeks.

Tried to include my spreadsheet here, but it won't accept an Excel file.   Attached a snapshot instead.

I should have provided a better answer for you.   The average number of days from Packet 3 to Interview in Thailand from Jan 2018 until now is 27 days.

That last column in the spreadsheet shows the number of days for each application, from oldest to newest.   Also included a graph.....in spite of the 89 day anomaly spiking the line, it still appears to have a slight upward trend to me.  Maybe once our information is included, it will start to track downward.   :)
