My husband will be coming from London with our dog, Rudi on 31st May 2007. He will be arriving at Minneapolis airport. Is it true that they can turn him back if they feel like it? Even though he has the k3 visa? I can't remember where I read this, but it is something that I came across somewhere months ago. Not even sure if it was someone else's worry and it didn't actually happen.

I have done a search and found that people who go through MPLS airport haven't had the best experiences. Anyone who has come through recently, please let me know your experience.

Getting very nervous and just need a bit of reassurance!

Thank you.

Since your husband is a Limey, there IS a nearby alternative of landing at Winnipeg and driving (or flying, using its PFI) in.

helzie,

"if they feel like it?" - no. If they find reason to believe that he is not eligible for entry using the K3 visa? - yes, they can deny him entry.

This has happened to a VJer, a year or so ago. The consulate issued a visa, the CBP inspector determined that the visa was issued in error - the alien had a circumstance that required a waiver. Back he went. After some discussion the consulate agreed that the CBP officer had been correct, the alien was required to submit a waiver, the waiver was approved, a new visa was issued, and on the 2nd attempt the fellow was granted entry.

The consulate was London, but taking a bit of the sting out of it the CBP inspection point was either Dublin or Shannon. A much shorter trip than MSP.
