Well went to clark to get passport. We were turned away because we dont have a ss id or old id. We have voters card, nso b/s and postal id. How do we get a old id? ssid? Its easier to get a passport in usa than PI. Any help?

I experienced the same thing when I applied for a passport at DFA Manila. If you don't have old identifications, you can use school year book that shows your fiancee's face and name on it. That's what I did since I really didn't have any valid IDs back then. They're asking for old IDs to make sure that the passport applicant and the name she's using are one person because a lot of people apply for a passport using others identity. If she got an old community tax certificate, it will be of help since it will show her signature on it.

Good luck to both of you! Don't give up!

hi,

if jen cant find her old schoolbook. she can apply for her SSS ID. In case Jen is not working in Phils now, she can just tell SSS that she's planning to establish an account in SSS for her future pension. Jsut visit the nearest regional office of SSS. As far as i know, they releases ID on the day of application.

check this site for more info.

Jen and Larry,

If you apply for SSS ID-> Need to get a number/account first (apply for SSS as voluntary member), after you have a number, you can apply for the SSS ID (which is another separate line and they only attend to the first 150 applicants per day). You will not receive your ID on the day of application, they will only give you a claim stub (that you had applied for it and the date they received it and when you will expect to receive your ID). They mail the SSS ID a month after the application. Sometimes it may take as long as 6 months to receive it in mail.

I am a member of SSS since 1993 (as a covered employee) then I applied and changed to a voluntary member year 2000. I have a previous SSS ID on my maiden name, applied for E-4 for change of status (2006) then they asked me to come back after amonth to apply for my SSS ID. I applied for SSS ID March 2007 and they told me to wait and that it will be mailed to me after a month. I have not received my ID and I'm already here in the US. My sister received her ID 6 months after application.

Do you have any Police Certificates/ Baranggay Certificates or NBI clearances? This can be used as ID. Any previous work ID that you can use for your passport application?

HELEN

Yearbooks are ridiculous ideas presented by DFA staffs. Not everyone owns a yearbook. Last year, I applied for a passport and was treated similarly. I had my company ID, my BC, NBI. He didn't want it - he wanted an OLD HIGHSCHOOL or GRADESCHOOL SCHOOL ID (which was ridiculous since that was a decade ago.) SSS ID (the new, 'creditcard' looking one with photos and all that ####### which of course I currently didn't had) and a driver's license (which i obviously didnt have).

If she doesn't have her old school id, tell her to get TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS from all schools she attended. Highschool, or gradeschool. They want very old files to prove you are that same person applying.
