Good to know some people from the area in the forums. We were about to send our extension for the EAD/AP form when we got the Interview notice.  Moved our interview to San Jose (which was closer for us than SF).  Still waiting on our decision. Hopefully your interviews go well.

Our ZIP code is under SF field office jurisdiction but we live one hr drive to SF and SJ so I don't mind where they will schedule the interview (we are still waiting for the snail mail from USCIS). We don't even mind of driving up to Sacramento field office if we need to. Some people feel a little bit nervous about their interview but I don't know why I just feel calm. Thanks for wishing us good luck. I will certainly give the update once we're over it

Had our interview on Dec 12 at the Fairfax, VA office. Went well since today we just got the notice that the green card was being produced! Finally! Here I was thinking that they wouldn't touch it until well after New Years.

Congrats. Nothing now to worry about for at least a couple of years.

Got the interview notice yesterday. Our interview will be in san jose field office  on jan 27. It seems SF field office is assigning some of the cases either to Sacramento and San Jose.

Happy New Year to you all.

Congratulations to all who have received their gc or gave their gc interview scheduled.

Please, guys I need your humble opinion.

I have not heard anything about my green card since I submitted my request for initial evidence last year February.

I got approved for EAD and AP last year June.

I consulted my lawyer about my green card and she submitted a service enquiry last year October. USCIS responded saying there is workload that is why there is a delay.

What do I do about my green card application . In 2 to 3 months time I will have to submit application for EAD renewal.

It was about my sponsorship. But we submitted everything. Got approved for EAD and AP.

But have not heard anything concerning the form i485

Sorry to hear that you are still in limbo.  I would see if you can give them  a call again and talk to a Tier 2 rep.  I can't imagine USCIS is that backed up that it would take a year to review your evidence that you sent in. Maybe renewing their EAD/AP document may make them act on your case as some people in this forum had said it worked for them.  Who knows with USCIS.  Hopefully you get an answer soon.

Hi All,

We received the greencard interview date of 2/6 a couple of weeks ago. Just wondered what to expect in terms of timings on the day? My wife and I have the day booked off work, interview is at 1:30pm, we are planning on arriving around 1:00pm-1:15pm as don't want to be too early or too late. Any suggestions on what I should bring with me? I was planning on bringing a folder I have of all the NOA's, medical forms, vaccinations updates, newly completed i-693, bank statements for us both, proof of address for us both, passports, birth certificate, marriage certificate etc. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

If it is to be anything like ours, you MUST bring ALL of the following - and MORE!

ASSUME everything below is of ORIGINAL, LONG FORM, COMPLETE and OFFICIAL documents:

1)  ID documents for both of you. Birth certificates, passports, driver's licenses, marriage certificates, divorce decrees/judgments, citations/fines/tickets issued by law enforcement (parking, traffic violations, etc) and the pleads for all, all correspondence from USCIS with regards to your application (from day 1!).

2)  Medical assessment in it's original and sealed envelope.

3)  Bills/statements - (copies are OK, so long as you are prepared to give a copy to the Officer):

Lease/Mortgage, car payments, insurance (health, property, auto, life), electric, water, internet, cellphone - ALL showing BOTH of your names on EVERYTHING.

5) Bank account(s) statements with BOTH names on the account - covering at LEAST the last YEAR (all of 2019).  Ensure the joint account has PLENTY of deposits, paycheck deposits, transactions, and a solid, consistent balance.  Prepare to surrender these, so have copies.

4)  Retirement fund accounts and balances, and showing that your spouse (the SPONSORED party) is your beneficiary, should you die.

5)  Pictures - LOTS of pictures - from as far back as you can, to as immediate as you can.  These pictures WILL BE SURRENDERED to the Officer.

Showing:

Dates, attending events together, fun pictures, serious pictures, somewhat "romantic" pictures (NOT lewd, DUH!), pictures with each OTHER'S family in them, vacation pictures, anniversary pictures, wedding pictures (to include attendees).

So...we were very light on a lot of these things, and the Officer definitely didn't give us any clues during our interview of our success or failure likelihood.  Only, to ensure we were WELL-AWARE of the short-comings in many of the financial documents.  But, in this day-and-age, remarried couples who may have been married more than once before, don't just do it like your first marriage may have been done.  So...

However, we were notified THAT evening of successfully passing the interview, and the rest is history.

Go in with MUCH, MUCH more than that officer needs...and you should be fine.  Go in with anything short, and you may be in for a fight!

 Best wishes!

Nothing...and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in any kind of digital format will even be entertained or accepted.  Forget about saving trees; now isn't the time.
