FWIW, I think I've lost count of how many people who thought their AOS interview went horribly... then saw a status update to something that indicates approval ("approved", "new card is being produced", and the like) within the next few days and I've only been paying attention to AOS threads this year ...

God willing!!

I cant tell you how horrid we felt after, and how let-down we feel now.

While we saw many “check marks” on application when He asked us various questions, we also saw “notes” being written on several questions, as well.

The whole “hand-shake, “good luck to ya”” on the way out of the office...  meh...

Here’s hoping your positive sentiments are what happens.  Please excuse my current 99% expectation of either an RFE, the dreaded “Second Interview - 1-on-1”, or an outright Denial.

It’s just the absolute feeling we were left with, with so much expressed doubt and requestioning of some questions over and over again...........

Our interview for AOS is November 12.  Immigration office changed from Milwaukee to Minneapolis.  Hopefully the weather holds out good for us for that date.  Now, to gather all necessary info.

So...just had our interview, and we left with a horrible feeling.  Nothing stated explicitly, but that gut feeling you get...

- Asked almost NOTHING about the setup of our personal residence.

- Her DL still in old address.  Just haven’t got around to changing it.

- Our shared bank account has only a few transactions over the last few months.  Reason:  whenever we’re out doing whatever, whoever pays just pulls out our own card and pays.  Is that wrong?

- Health insurance is still separate. Reason:  I’m still in that 90-day just started a new job and insurance isn’t active yet.

- Wanted note from school showing both of us having sign-out authorization for my 17 year old daughter.  Really?!?!?!

- I was the target of most of the questions (beneficiary), and She was asked just a few basic questions.

- Provided Lease with our names on it.

- Provided plenty of additional pics.

- Provided my bank statements showing strong financial stability, that should negate the concern about the Petitioner’s capability of providing for both.

- I once held an H1B for a few months, but then transferred to another employer and back on to TNs.  Kept asking me if I’d ever applied for Permanent Residency because of that.  I answered, each time, NO.  The employer made it clear they would never apply for Perm, but would do the H1B.

The overall feeling we got was that he basically didn’t believe that we actually live together.  That’s just the feeling we have.

He ended it with some small talk, and shook our hands and said “good luck”.  Mentioned that he should have our case reviewed by the end of the day.

Thoughts from this group??

I seriously think there’s something wrong...  😔😔😔😔

I totally understand your feeling of confusion paired with what the heck just happened. Our interview was 9/11 and similar  experience except our officer was hot and cold. Sometimes nice and sometimes just meh throughout the interview. No real sign of whether everything was ok or if we need a second interview. Ours was in Newark and as you can see it’s been over a month and still under review. Good luck to you. I’m confident everything is fine for both of us and we’ll get our gcs soon enough !

Someone else to go through this with.  I was hoping NO ONE would've gone through what we went through, but comforted knowing we're not alone, even though it's the worst "pairing" to consider.

Prayers for you as well!

Is this for the K2 child?  Or is it for my wife having authority of my kids?

This is for MY biological child, Her step-child.  "Child" being 17 years old...  Really?!?!?  Just insane!  Yes, she's on the list, but really...required to bring it to the Interview?!?!?!????!?!?!??!?!?!??  The "Child" could literally sign herself out of school!

That is just insane.  Im not sure my exwife would like to see her as having authority to sign my biological student out of school.  My 17 year old daughter is in college now (out of state) and my 13 year old is in Jr High.  Her son (K2) is 17 and I have that authority.  I guess I can add her and get that printed off to suffice the requirement that they dont notify us to bring.

Our Attorney suspects that this Officer just got chewed-out for approving one he shouldn't have, and is taking it out on us.  A letter...showing my sponsoring wife has authority to pick up my 17-year-old at school...I mean, come on!  I guess...just have it ANYWAY...imagine the look on your Interviewer's face, if you're asked for this impossible issue, when you PRESENT it!!!  Bwahahaha!

Thank you!  Maybe if you leave feeling all high and happy and feeling like it’s “in the bag”, is when things don’t work out?!  I don’t know.

i can assure you, the feelings we had almost immediately after walking out the door...or probably...while we were still in his office, was an “oh god”...we failed.

We’ll wait for the jubilations until we have the actual card in our hands.....

Are you saying you’re still waiting for an update on your Interview??  When was it?  And nothing since?

I feel so sorry for those who are left to wait.  While I’m thankful to have received this update so quickly, I don’t know how I could stand to wait too long after the interview.  IMHO, you should be afforded some kind of update ASAP - whether it’s an RFE, denial/rejection, or approval.
