Sharing my AOS (based on K1) history for those who may be interested:

  • AOS 18 months ago.
  • AOS Interview 5 months ago; no decision at time of interview and no new information since then.
  • I-131/I-765 renewal filed four months ago (120 days before expiration, as requested).  Still no decision, so can't work anymore and can't travel outside USA anymore.

If this is you (or even longer), you're not alone.  Godspeed and best wishes.  I'll post any updates as I have them.

You are still able to work.

Did you receive a receipt when you sent the renewal forthe EAD?

That receipts automatically extends your work permit for 6 months after the previous expiration date. Check on the receipt or online it says so.

But please note this is valid ONLY for EAD.

AP is a different story you need the new document to be able to travel.

I am with you on this, it will be almost a year since our interview at the end of June. But thank God there was just some movement  they sent me a RFE for updated medical, it has expired in the mean time.

Good luck, try to forget about it (easier said than done) or maybe contact your local Congressman and Senator

Thank you for your reply.  A previous poster shared the same information and we have confirmed that the six-month work extension has been granted.    Now the challenge is getting to work.   In the state of Georgia, we cannot renew the driver's license without the green card, as we have exhausted all the driver license extension opportunities.  So while it's legal to work, it's cost-prohibitive to get to work.

Wow sorry that sucks that you cant extend your Drivers license and really not fair since you renewed your EAD on time.

Its not the best but better than nothing but Amazon hires representatives to work online and do customer service. Google it, it could help.

Thank God here in MD they extend the license for 8 months when you provide the receipt for EAD renewal.

After successfully having submitted an inquiry for AOS (I-485/K-1)  "outside of normal processing time," USCIS changed the "out of processing" date...backing it up exactly three months.  So, while we were once outside of normal processing time, we no longer are.   We're still waiting for the response to our inquiry, so it will be interesting to see what the response is.

Moral of the story: normal processing times as listed online by USCIS mean nothing.  The dates can be changed at random with a wave of the USCIS wand.

Update: we are now on day 843 since dropping the I-129F in the mail.  Day 1,000 here we come!

I finally have our interview on Aug 1, 2019.

My Medical was in Dec, 2017.

Do I have anything to worry about? regarding the medical.

Any tips on what to bring?

When I had my AOS interview two weeks ago, I didn't bring new medical paper (I brought the old one that I got from K1) But the officer didn't ask us to handled  the medical paper. She asked us to give evidence like joint account (debit or credit card, billing payment , W2 tax and some pictures). interview was easy and smooth. It was basically all about our relationship. That's all.

We wish you good luck for your interview on August 1st!.

Thanks!

Since we have both changed employers - should I fill out another 864?

Yes I think it doesn't hurt to fill out another 864 since you both changed employer. We brought new 864 filled out on our interview but the interviewer didn't ask us about it. Just prepare everything you have for evidence, just in case the interviewer ask about it.

Just swinging by to say we FINALLY had our interview this week and got approved the day after! What a long journey it has been, glad it is over (for two years, anyways).

I sincerely hope we were the very last people from January 2018 that were still waiting, if not, I feel for you.

You are not the last one waiting.  I think we are.  Jan. 10, 2018 date, still silence from USCIS.

Hey everyone...just wanted to give an update since it’s the new year.  It’s now day 1026 since USCIS received our I-129, 741 days since I-485 was received and 355 days since interview.   Still no approval. Just waiting.  I’m finding it all quite comical now.  Day 2000...here we come.
