My fiancé left that bit out in our i129f where he was asked to write my name in my native language thinking it wasn’t mandatory. Kindly let me know if it is or isn’t.

thank you

It depends on the country.

One of the things I have learned in the process of visa or GC is that they who have the gold make the rules. So, if they say that something is required, I would listen and abide to their request. This mistake will not cause you to be denied, if anything you may get a RFE to fix or they may just pass it along.

There is nothing preventing you from having the significant other writing out, scan, email and print it.  On the form you simply indicate "see attached "

YMMV

Cyrillic works for copy and paste 😊

Or at least did for me; Anastasia had sent me her name and address written in Cyrillic earlier.

You need to have your native SO write it.  No use sending an unintended insult to a savvy multi-lingual USCIS reviewing officer.

https://translit.net/ can come handy in a pinch for Cyrillic needs at least.
