Questions about k1 fiancé visa after noa2

I received the NOA2 on December 3, 2018. I emailed the NVC and they said they received it and would be giving me a new case number. It is January 2nd and I still haven’t revieved anything.

How long Does it usually take for them to give you a case number? And is this something they email to you or send in the mail?

Also at what step do you fill out the DS -160 form?

Can my fiancé go and get the medical interview now or do we need to wait for the NVC to send us a case number?

My plan is to go to Indonesia when my fiancé gets the interview to bring all of my tax documents, affidavit of support, etc. and go to the interview together. Just trying to also figure out what I’m looking at as far as when we should expect the interview as I am a nurse and need to take off of work at least a month in advance.

Thank you all whoever reads and responds. I sincerely appreciate it!!!!

when was the last time you contacted nvc?
usually they will give you the case# about 3/4 weeks after the noa2 . maybe the process bit longer due to holiday season.
I suggest you to keep trying to contact NVC so you can do the medical.

Technically you can fill DS160 at any time but I suggest making a payment and ask for intvw schedule after medcheck is completed

You, the petitioner, probably won't receive anything from NVC. Many do not. The best way to get the case # is to call them.

It takes up to a month for the application to get from NVC to the embassy. When it arrives at the embassy, they'll e-mail you (the petitioner) to confirm the application, and will provide you instructions and info (such as the med exam process). They'll also ask for your fiance's contact info, and once he's confirmed he's got everything ready for the interview, they'll schedule an interview for him.

The Jakarta embassy is pretty quick in responding to e-mails, and I imagine they're reasonably flexible in arranging an interview time, so it shouldn't be a problem if you need at least a month in advance.

I had to call NVC. Before I even asked she gave me the case number and invoice ID.
