1) Is there anyone who mailed the application?

2) filing online: I have documents translated from my native language and stamped by Notary. 

Original document and translated document are 2 different pages bundled together. I am worried how to scan and upload them :(

I didn't have anything translated but I would assume you can just upload the bundled pages in a PDF format, for example.

I agree with @Slowloris, just scan them as pdf's use adobe acrobat or a pdf maker to combine the files, if you have a make you can just drag and drop thumbnails in Preview.  I would put the translation first with a note at the top that says "copy of the original document follows".

Hi, 

1.) Some mailed their application.

2.) Mostly filed their application online. You can scan both, (the translated documents first, then the original document) in one PDF file OR scan the translated documents first in one file, then scan the original one in another file. Just put the right file name.

 

I actually had a hard time scanning mine because I am not used to scanning stuff.  It also has a limit of file size you can upload, I think 6mb per file.  My scanned files was not accepted at first because some of my pdf files are more than the limit so I have to compress some of my files. Example you can scan all the 3 months bank statements in one pdf file (that is what i did) or you can scan per month. 

 

I am no way expert on this but this is what I did.

Before filing online N-400 application, it is more convenient if you already scanned all your documents.

Make sure that your file size won't exceed the required file size.

Don't worry about having too many documents to provide. There are categories where they ask what type of documents to upload. For example in my case the First category they asked were my 10 year gc and marriage certificate. Second category they asked for husband's documents like his birth certificate, his passport. Then another category asking for proof of marriage like bank statements,  tax returns, bills, insurances, and so on. Then another category about name change like your Birthday, passport bio, and

so on. Then lastly any other evidence you want to provide. 

You can always go back and check everything before you submit. 

 

Filing online is faster in the sense that it arrives faster than mailing the application and you can check the status update in your online account. Filing online or by mail, the completion time varies.
